Durham Riverside Apartments

This hidden gem is the best apartment I have ever stayed in. The quality of the furniture and furnishings is second to none. The communication from the owners meant we easily found the underground car parking included in the price. The owner was there to meet and greet us. He gave a comprehensive tour of the pristine apartment and outside. A host of goodies were there for us to enjoy. Fresh croissants, bread, individually wrapped quality butter, milk, teas, coffee, hot chocolate, jams, eggs and wine! Overlooking the River Wear, we relaxed on the generous balcony watching the world go by. I could have stayed there forever but we were due at an event at the Cathedral. The apartment is so central. If you are reasonably fit (I’m 71 and could do it!) the shops and cathedral are easily accessible uphill all the way. If not so fit, there are buses and taxis. The owner left booklets and a folder with all necessary information. I was very reluctant to write this review as I’d like to keep it all to myself. Go on, treat yourself. It’s worth it!

This property truly is a 5 star. It is clean and modern with all the required amenities as well as lots of detailed extras including welcome gifts and robes to be used during your stay. Chris was an absolutely amazing host with attention to detail and was always available to offer assistance and answer our questions. His restaurant recommendations were spot on. The location is amazing with quick access to the university and the walking path along the river as well as local shops and sights. You'll love your stay here!

Perfect place to stay in Durham!!! Perfection!!! I wanted to move in! Great location to everything, all modern appliances and furniture, kind and generous hosts who left us milk and juice in the fridge, croissants and cookies, and a fantastic bottle of wine! And lots and lots of coffee/espresso pods!! A gorgeous walk-out balcony to the river and bridge view. This place is amazing!!! I will probably be renovating my kitchen now! Ha!!!

This is our 3rd stay at Chris and Wendy's magnificent apartment. We stayed at the duplex apartment as the bed configuration suits our needs. We have also stayed at the other apartment available and it is equally luscious. The apartment is , by far, the cleanest and best stocked accommodation we have ever stayed in.....and we do travel a fair bit!! Beautiful food 'essentials' provided, coffee pods, milk, bread, eggs, jam, butter, croissants, oh, and a bottle of Malbec thrown in!!!!.......just a complete haven. Our son is studying at Durham and he adores visiting us here when we come: a splash of luxury!! haha! Location is fabulous as it's a hop, skip and jump to Durham centre, cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Thanks Chris and Wendy for your hospitality and we'll see you again soon. We are hoping to bag these apartments for our son's graduation in 2025!!!
