The hotel is very well located for the train and downtown. It was not clear to us that we had to let them know in advance that we wanted housekeeping to come in. That was disappointing. Breakfast is a grab and go, but the first morning the attendant was not at his desk, so I had to go back to my room to get my phone to call him. Bread and hot stuff is behind the scenes. The coffee was cold. He did come and help us and made a fresh pot of coffee which was appreciated. This is a basic hotel with few amenities.

Location! We stayed in a 2 queen bed room. Myself, husband and 14 year old son. Soccer tournament. Overall it was fine. Location was the best thing. We walked to shops and restaurants during our stay. The room was small. We stayed 4 nights and between the small room, construction noise and zero privacy, we were wishing we looked into this hotel more. Construction is not the hotel’s fault at all. It was just noisy very early and into the evening. I would absolutely stay there again, but would ask for a room with a balcony. It would’ve made a difference for us. They have a cute little grab and go breakfast with yogurt, juices, milk, as well as a few microwaveable jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches. Some pop tarts, mini muffins, granola bars and apples, bananas and oranges. And coffee of course! For being an older hotel, our room was really clean! Yay!! If you want to be in walking distance to all of Durango Main St, this hotel is perfect! If you want super comfy and views of anything other than other buildings, then this might not suit you. Thank you Durango Lodge!

Downtown Lodge in an older but clean facility. Convenient downtown quiet Lodge. Rough surface condition in the parking lot. I booked an accessible room that was not fully accessible requiring entrance into a hallway and then a steep slanted ramp down to the room. Out side door was not automatic. Small non handicapped toilet in a tight location. Clean and confortable beds in a smaller sized room.

The Durango Lodge is a great location, but there is construction going on next door that started around 6:30am and prevented us from sleeping. Additionally, our room was 80° when we arrived despite it being 52° outside. When we turned on the a/c, the room got up to 82°. A/C only blew warm air, and A/C fan as well. Eventually we turned everything off and left the windows and door open and the room finally cooled to 73° an hour later. I had food from our road trip to put in the fridge, but the fridge was completely off and I didn't realize, so my food was unsafe to eat by morning, especially considering the 80° room. Bathroom was clean. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable although the pillows were too tall. They say breakfast included....It's pretty much bad frozen Jimmie Dean sausage & pancakes.

Older hotel with a good location for walking around the historic downtown. Lighting was poor in the hallway and rooms. The smoke alarm was beeping due to a low battery when we entered our room. Makes me question a little bit the overall maintenance and safety of the building. The front desk person was quick to replace the battery. However, simple maintenance of replacing batteries on a schedule before they go bad appears to be a big safety oversight. Overall, the best asset is the proximity to the historic downtown and rate of the room. I would stay there again, just be aware it’s old.
