Coral Sands Hotel

Dunmore Town|0.36km from Pink Sands Beach
Our group of 9 (2 families: 4 adults/4 kids, ages 8-10, 1 baby, age 1) spent a week at Coral Sand's Villa Carissa Feb. 13-20, 2021. The amazing service started well before our arrival as Aldred at the front desk answered our every question, helped with planning excursions, and made sure we had everything we would need upon our arrival. The Villa was perfect for our group with enough room and privacy to allow our kids to run a bit wild without bothering other guests, but close enough that we felt completely part of the resort. The private pool was a lifesaver and provided the perfect spot for a late afternoon swim for the kids and pre-dinner drinks for the adults. The layout of the house was a bit odd, as one bedroom can only be accessed through either of the other bedrooms, but it worked fine for us. The guest cottage (with laundry!) is great. A great escape for parents if their kids are old enough to sleep a few hundred yards away. The Resort itself was even better! The location is as good as it gets. Very central to everywhere you'll want to be. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Everyone from maintenance, to the front desk staff to the amazing beach attendants and waiters and waitresses were always ready to help and did so with a smile. We ate breakfast at the resort everyday (a mix of room service and dining room), lunch and snacks many days at the beach bar, had dinner twice at Latitude 25, and enjoyed our share of Kaliks and rum punches all over the resort! It was all excellent and expertly served. The staff was always masked and quick to gently remind guests who were not. Masking and social distancing compliance was pretty much 100% across the island and with the Bahamas Covid testing protocols we felt safer here than we do at home. I could go on and on about Coral Sands Resort and go on further about the beautiful and friendly people, breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and incredible art of Harbour Island. But, just go! You won't be disappointed! We will certainly be back.

Tingum Village Hotel

We honeymooned on Harbour Island and came back 50 years later and found the Tingum Village Hotel run by Juanita A. Percentie, a true sweetheart!!! Why is this place unique? Picture walking into the restaurant where you knock on the kitchen door and the cook comes out to tell you what's on the menu for that meal, take your pick and be seated while your meal is being cooked! Guaranteed delicious! Pool, what pool, the gorgeous ocean beach is only 3 blocks away and for an extra $50 a day you can get a golf cart, including your gas!!! Housekeeping is excellent...oh, and the bar is usually open 24 hours a day. Honor system if no bartender is present...when's the last time you ever saw that? Rooms are air conditioned Dining room and bar are shaded open air. Oh, and the hotel is right next door to a legit massage parlor. Kitchenettes available in at least some of the rooms. And only 7 blocks from the main part of town!!! The Tingum Village Hotel is hard to beat no matter what, and Juanita Percentie, General Manager and Part Owner is a true sweetheart! We love her to death!!!. Juanita, we'll be back soon!!!

Agreed with previous reviewers complimenting the GM, Mario. He solved multiple problems for us - including changing our room (a needed plus to keep us from leaving). The other team-members were very pleasant and competent as well. Was nice to get a ride with bags back to the port (only a few blocks away but a huge benefit with the hills + heat). Wish I'd inquired about for arrival too. Likes: - economical option during the Christmas holiday week - spacious rooms (the ”Deluxe” ones have kitchenettes) - beach chairs and towels - Mario's responsiveness with inquiries and suggestions Dislikes: - old, dilapidated shower and sub-optimal water pressure - window panes don't close easily or well - bed sheets stained - TV never worked properly
