The hostel is within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. It’s about 15’ by taxi to Mingsha Shan and 30’ or less to Mogao Grottoes. From train station, it’s about 30rmb or 6rmb ride by public bus, although i wouldnt know how close the bus stop is to hostel. Anyone with a big suitcase, please be aware that the hostel is located on the second floor.

The hostel is very good! There are lots of restaurants nearby and the bus station to reach the sights of the city is also close. The host is very very friendly and gave us some recommendations for transport and food. He even gave us some melon and another fruit to eat while checking in and after we woke up. We could leave our bags in a locked room after check-out while still exploring the city.

The location is excellent. It's very convenient to go out for a walk along the river and have a meal. I slept here for a very peaceful night. I strongly recommend going to the Dunhuang Bookstore next door. That's it.

Highly recommended! The location is great, just over a 10-minute walk to the Dunhuang Night Market, and the Dunhuang Bookstore is just a 2-minute walk across the street. Downstairs are restaurants and a breakfast shop.
The room was also spacious. If there was one downside, it would be carrying your luggage up the stairs to the hostel, but the owner does it for you, so don't worry!
The owner treated us to fruit every day 🍉. There's also a washing machine! This is absolutely perfect for those on a multi-day trip.

A very good youth hostel, the only drawback is that there is no laundry (I think there is none). The owner is very welcoming, the dog is very cute, and everyone I interacted with in Dunhuang was very welcoming, including the breakfast shop owner, taxi driver, spicy hot pot shop owner, fruit shop owner, specialty shop owner, and the bus driver to Yangguan. The Dang River is beautiful, and I love the cool breeze by the Dang River at night. There was a grandfather who played the flute very beautifully. 🥺 This time I came to Dunhuang just to walk to Yangguan. I hope I can come again during the off-season. 🙏🏻

I was satisfied with everything. I occasionally stay in a dormitory while traveling alone, and it was perfect.
The only downside was that the bed was made of plywood with a thin mattress, which made it a bit uncomfortable.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, offering helpful information and making the stay even more satisfying.
As you can see in the photo, the river is right in front. It's a great place for a morning walk.
