We arrived late at night and therefore did not realise how bad the room allocated actually was. In the morning, this became very apparent. The bathroom did not smell very fresh at all, the paintwork was dirty and mouldy, the shower head was very mouldy with black slime emanating from the shower head. There was also a large crack in the toilet bowl which all in all is less than hygienic! The curtains in the room were in very poor condition and one was fitted on wrong rail meaning it could not be opened. In the morning were unable to report issues at reception as there was no one there at checkout and we had to leave promptly to be elsewhere. I now know that there is no point in reporting to customer services online if you are seeking any form of recompense (worth noting!) - apparently they are unable to do this if you did not (or could not) report this at reception of the actual hotel ???? I am actually quite shocked about the condition of the room as I have never seen anything like it before - quite disgusting!

A cot was requested but a junior bed was supplied....no good for a 7 month old. Nothing could be done to change it. The Manager chose to close the bar and restaurant at 8pm knowing that we were booked into the hotel and had called ahead to be told it was open. The room was tired and in need of refurbishment. Good comfortable bed. Generally not a welcoming experience. I would not bother again given other similar brands are available locally.

First impressions weren't the best compared to some other premier inns. Pros- staff helpful, comfy beds and a good breakfast. Cons- location not ideal for town, wifi poor, usb ports in room don't work. Bar and restaurant hours could be extended as nowhere in hotel to get food or drink on arrival after a long trip to get there

Good value and easy transport links into Edinburgh via the local station. The room that we stayed in does look run down, and could do with a refresh. No aircon, and it did get very warm at night even in December, yet due to noise on the site you couldn’t leave the window open. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We have stayed in several Premier Inns over the last 10 years, from Dover to Perth, but are finding they are now in desperate need of restoration, they are looking tired and often damaged and in need of repair. We are now considering using another hotel chain due to the lack of maintenance across the hotel chain generally.

I want to thank the incredible staff, Emily, Leanne and Andrea for their hospitality and service. They really make us feel welcome, helping me celebrate my son's birthday in style. The true testament is, having stayed here before and had a brilliant experience, I gave my son the choice between yourselves or a 4* with a pool. His response was... Let's go where the beds are super comfy and the staff are lovely. I love coming here...when you consider the ridiculous comfort of the beds, the amazing water pressure in the bath/shower and those specific ladies mentioned above, who make us feel like we are bespoke customers.. there is no better place or price around with this level of service. Thank you for helping me celebrate my boys birthday and making it a memorable one. He's really happy and so am I. Until next time.. thank you. Julia

The hotel its self is adequate for an overnight stay(3 stars). However do not prepay for the meal/breakfast as it’s awful. It’s as though they have tried to find the cheapest possible produce! (1 star). The staff were to be fair good but the produce at both evening meal and breakfast was very poor. The fruit salad was the only thing I had that was enjoyable. It was also very quiet which says I’m not the only one that has this opinion.

Fantastic. Friendly staff. Great location. Plenty of food options. Clean rooms. Quick check in. Parking is free and car park is big enough. 100% would recommend to someone to stay here. I will be back in the future. Thank you for being so accommodating.
