Went away for my mums birthday and had a fantastic time. We stay in the gorgeous Ben Hogan suite and wow, it was huge! Nice spacious room with an amazing view of the botanic gardens and the tay beyond. A freestanding bath and separate shower in the bathroom also continued the theme of luxury and elegance. Dinner at night was lovely and breakfast was especially decadent with fruit salad to start and full scottish to follow from an extensive menu. I would definitely recommend a stay here or even just a special meal, the grounds are also stunning and I hope I can return in the near future.

My husband has given the hotel time to contact him but after a few weeks there has not been any promised contact. We visited on 2 occasions over a few weeks as we had previously been for dinner in the past and enjoyed it. The first occasion we had issues was for my birthday in February where we had a table for 12 people. The menu on the website was not the menu handed over to us and even between us all there were different variations. A lot of the items on the menu were not being served and this included a lot of the cuts of steak and the desserts. Food was delicious but service wasn’t very attentive and we had to keep going to the bar to get our own drinks. When we booked we were asked if it was for a special occasion and we did state it was for a birthday, yet nothing was done to acknowledge this. Despite all of this we paid the almost £400 bill and decided to return for Mother’s Day thinking it was just a blip. We turned up 10 minutes early for our 4pm reservation, yet weren’t seated until about 4.20pm. We ordered our drinks before 4pm but these didn’t appear until 4.30pm. Again, we had issues with menus not matching and there were no starters I could eat, or so I thought, I asked what the soup was and was told there was none. It turned out someone else at another table had ordered the mushrooms on toast which I would have ordered but that wasn’t anywhere on any of our menus. The children’s menu wasn’t on any of our menus either and we only found out they were serving the children’s menu after I asked for a burger for my son and the server replied to ask if it was the children’s burger we wanted. We then ordered our food which did not arrive until 5pm. At 5.20pm we had to call someone over to clear the table and ask for dessert menus but after 10/15 minutes they had not returned to take our order so we walked out of the dining room and paid our bill. The food was delicious but the service was appalling. Two tables that were seated and orders taken after us were served first, we weren’t asked for any more drinks orders, the table behind us sat with dirty plates and glasses on it for over an hour after the guests had left. When paying my husband explained to the person he was paying about the service being poor. Baring in mind in the space of 3 weeks we had now spent upwards of £500 eating at their restaurant and neither visit was great. We received a discount off our bill which was a lovely gesture but the man serving my husband had double checked my husbands phone number and advised he would call the next day to discuss the issues. This has not happened. It has been 2 weeks and nobody from Taypark has reached out to my husband. The service really lets the restaurant down as the food is delicious. The menu discrepancies are frustrating and would be a quick fix. I doubt we will return to Taypark again unless these simple things are sorted as it is very off putting to spend 2 hours in a restaurant to only receive one drink and one course of

Went for breakfast March 2024. Terrible. Full breakfast is very small and comparable to weatherspoons. Pancakes were served soggy ( mixed in with a berry and cream mess ) it looked like a child had vomited on the plate. The table was booked for 2 hours and we were asked 1 hr 20 mins in to give the table back which is extremely poor considering the entire restaurant was empty. Being asked to leave would have been issue had we not been keen to leave and forget we ever decided to go out for breakfast.

Overall very disappointed. Lovely location and setting. Hotel is a little tired and needs a deep clean. I unfortunately checked out at 8am, and they do not serve breakfast before 8:30am and do no accommodate for checking out prior to this. Morning shower was cold, informed reception staff. The TV in room 204 got very poor TV reception. Think a shake such a lovely hotel exterior is let down by the interior.

My partner and I were very fortunate enough to win a nights stay with breakfast included! We stayed Saturday night and were offered the Turret (Bridal) Suite. Room was fantastic. Bath plug was missing from the bath in the room….however staff quickly rectified this. Booked dinner for the evening which can’t be faulted. Staff were professional and fantastic. They even handled a very rude couple with grace and courtesy when they didn’t deserve it. Dinner slightly more expensive than we would normally pay however to be expected with the high quality of food. Great night sleep. Breakfast was again fantastic. Manager and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. Will stay again.

Excellent stay. The owner William and all the staff were always available, efficient and friendly. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable with excellent heating . This boutique hotel has wonderful deco and ambiance. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Would highly recommend the Taypark House.

Very nice lunch for 7 adults and 2 children. Beautiful Victorian sandstone house off Perth Road with views out over the river Tay. The house has been tastefully refurbished combining traditional with contemporary styles. Helpful, attentive staff. The menu offered something for everyone, and was reasonably priced. Food was tasty and the helpings were good, we will definitely be back.

Absolutly terrible. From the filthy ,scuffed front door in the place needs a complete deep clean at the very least. As a full time wheelchair user my wife who is able bodied and I were allocated room 301. There was no fire assembly point information in the room, no phone , no emergency cord in the shower room, the blind cord on the window had been cut which meant the blind could not be raised to give access to the window. We were completly isolated from the main hotel . At dinner, my wife asked for potatoes instead of chips. The man who served us said he would "see if they had any potatoes". He returned telling us the steak pie was off! Fawlty Towers has nothing on this place! We would not return or recommend this hotel.

We were seduced by the Itison Brunch deal. We had been here for supper once before, when it first opened and all I can remember from that visit was that the food was inedible and the service awful. This time I couldn't fault the service. The setting is beautiful, it really is a stunning property. The Husband had a mediocre full Scottish breakfast, and I had eggs Benedict with a very mouldy muffin. I am astonished that chef didn't notice. I received a fresh meal ( minus muffin, at my request) but thought they might not have charged. However, the voucher was taken. I'm not convinced I would like to make a third attempt, anyway...
