Paid the cancellation fee couldn’t make the trip and was told I couldn’t get a refund.. why pay the fee if that was the case

Great stay!
Myself and a few friends stayed a night here while in town for a sporting event. The property was great and close proximity to restaurants. Everyone slept well!Thank you!
