I have been to Cromlix over the last few years and enjoyed afternoon tea, however after visiting on 4/4/25 I have felt let down by the normally high standards. What has made this worse is that I emailed last week as I didn’t want to make a fuss whilst there as it was busy and although I was told it would be passed to the restaurant manager to contact me I’m still waiting on a reply 4 days later. The afternoon tea menu has just recently changed, the savouries on my last visit in December were exceptional, flavours fantastic and great variety however this time from 6 down to 5 and not the usual flare. What disappointed me more though was the sweet selection this is always a favourite as they are always intricate, yet one of the cakes were 2 tiny madeleines, it just lacked the Cromlix flare, now I don’t know why but having seen a recent post of their new menu by another guest the madeleines were missing was it maybe an off day? As said previously I’ve been lucky enough to visit on a number of occasions for afternoon tea and each time it’s been amazing but I feel let down on the lack of response.

Attended for afternoon tea. Staff and waiting staff most friendly and polite. Beautiful surroundings outside and inside. Cannot fault staff professionalism at all. Will re visit without hesitation

Excellent hotel that gets the basics right in so many ways. A wonderful welcome, helpful staff for luggage (thanks Richard!) and a beautiful interior. Stayed for one night and would gladly have stayed for a few nights if our itinerary would have allowed it. Bedrooms are beautifully appointed and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. There’s a wonderful bar area and also a lovely library. Don’t miss the private chapel either…..! The only downside is the main restaurant which is noisy as there is an open (and loud) kitchen - maybe making this glass fronted would keep the interest but dramatically reduce the noise and make for a better experience.

Loved every minute of our 3 night stay here. Staff were exceptionally professional and friendly and went out of their way to make the whole experience enjoyable. Room was amazing, well it was more than a room, more a suite. The small touches were very special like the short bread and mini bar updated daily for no additional charge. Dinner was awesome and it took us the first night to realise how flexible the team are in you are able to mix and match which is exactly what we did. All dishes we had were sensational. Special shout out to Richard in the restaurant who was very knowledgeable regarding the food and drink, especially his knowledge regarding whiskeys. Thankyou to all the staff, contributed is small and large ways to the whole 3-day stay. We will be back!

Visited for my wifes birthday, and had a brilliant stay. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a beautiful meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
