Let down by another hotel in the area, I popped my head in here to see if they could help they did Have to say service of a 4/5 star Two ladies behind the bar extremely good at there job , polite and happy with good levels of conversation for a solo traveler this especially made me feel relaxed as it was a first time traveling solo Bar area was popular and busy but service levels didn’t drop one bit Prices are very keen making this so far difficult to understand why it’s a 3 star Room was clean with everything needed Clean bedding & bathroom Towels provided are also soft, and massive Room was also well heated . Food was also spot on I had a Scottish breakfast And enjoyed my stay safe to say next time I come up I am staying here with no hesitation Think is very underrated Also parking on site if that help anyone .

Can’t recommend this place enough. The young staff are really helpful and went out of their way to accommodate my GF options on the menu. The food was delicious and prices are more than reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

A great place to stay with exceptional service from friendly staff. We were working night shift and they provided a lovely breakfast before going to bed on the morning. The rooms are spotless the beds very very comfortable, with mattress toppers for a great sleep. Would definitely stay again.

This is an older hotel but what it lacks in high-end decor it certainly makes up in atmosphere! The staff are really friendly, the bar and dining area cosy and inviting, small and intimate so people actually converse. Our bed was really comfortable, the room was very quiet, the shower was hot with good pressure. We used it as a base to take the train to Edinburgh, the train station is barely a 5 min walk away. The hotel is central so you can stroll around Dunbar. Dinner is reasonably priced and very substantial, as is breakfast - you will not leave hungry!

Have stayed here few times en route to Edinburgh airport as only 30 mins on train to edinburgh and hotel right outside station so easy to get to. I love Dunbar and go quite often, not much there but thats why i like it. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Restaurant on site.

We had a couple days at this hotel and had a great stay.We were in a large room with a four poster bed in it and it was very comfortable. The shower was hot, room was warm,tea/coffee and biscuits in room, large tv with the only thing missing was enough draw space for clothes. There is a bar with friendly staff working there and also a restaurant which we had a very nice evening meal in The breakfast is very nice and fresh and you order it the night before along with the time you will be attending the breakfast room. Areas for consideration would be a sliding bar for the shower head to be adjusted - as its fixed at a certain height.More drawers for clothes in the bedroom and background music for the restaurant - as its very quiet in there whilst waiting/eating - the bar has music playing. We will return to this hotel should we be in dunbar again.

Stayed one night (on Saturday) with my teenage son. The staff were fantastic. Could not have been more helpful. But the hotel is very dated and grubby. My son and I were very uncomfortable. It felt like a grubby old Youth Hostel rather than a hotel.
