We stayed in this hotel last year and had a wonderful experience. We returned this week as a stopover on our way to the ferry from Cairnryan. Unfortunately we did not have a very good experience on this occasion. Our room was very musty and smell of damp. We had a really long wait for our evening meal - it took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive and then another 30 minutes for our mains. We had to asked twice for the waitress to check where our food was. The response the first time was, “it’s just coming”. We were still waiting 15 minutes later! To top it all off, they don’t serve breakfast until 8.30am. Rather late in my opinion if guests are traveling to catch ferries etc. We had paid for breakfast but had to leave by 8am so couldn’t partake. I found the staff at check in dismissive and uninterested. The dining staff at our evening meal were friendly. We had booked to stay over on our return journey but I have since cancelled the booking due to the experience we had on this occasion. What a pity - such a lovely location, but they really need to do better!

My father is a wheelchair user and we were having a family day out and we dropped in for lunch, there was access to the outside seating, the staff were friendly and the food fine. However it all fell apart when we need to use the toilets. There are no accessible toilets - toilets for men and women would be really tricky for anyone with any mobility issues and a wheel chair couldn't get anywhere near. I will say that the member of staff who tried to help us was really great and sympathetic and we did eventually manage to manoeuvre the wheelchair into a shower room with toilet that she unlocked for us. It took two of us to get him in there and as there were no rails we had to help him transfer. Obviously we won't be going back!

Slow service food nothing special smell in the whole building very unhappy with the whole experience needless to say I won’t be returning staff don’t seem happy at all to have a few folk arrive in pity no one asked how our food was I thought this was the fine thing to ask customer’s opinion

Hotel was more of motel to hotel with several rooms in prefab rooms not attached to reception/bar. However clean with comfortable bed nice bathroom and outside veranda with view loch. Sufficient car parking. Staff were really good. Bar/restaurant has amazing view over loch, with outside seating as well. Breakfast was really good (except for coffee which wasn't). Restaurant/bar was reasonably priced there was good choice on menu and quality was adequate. Did really enjoy stay and would come back if in area. It is on a busy road which whilst great for location and getting around, but little noisy

Last minute booking booked on the day. We stayed in the cabin which was a really nice room well appointed with a terrace leading straight onto the loch. Beautiful views. The area is great for visiting local places, such as Dumfries and Lockerbie, plenty of walking areas. The leek and white chocolate soup was a genius combination and was probably one of the best soups we have ever tasted. The squid was cooked to perfection. The breakfasts we’re really hearty with quality products and cooked to perfection, (by the owner). Cocktails made to order. The bar prices were really good value. The venue has a real family feel to it and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for your time we will be back. Family members are already talking about making a visit too.

What a Gem !! Literally stumbled on this hotel whilst googling. After spending a week in the highlands, we wanted to break up our journey back with our dogs. This hotel is perfect for dogs, rooms are amazing and offer the best views of the Loch. The food in the restaurant is amazing and so good value ! We all slept like babies !! The room had everything we wanted - the bed was super comfy and waking up to the views of the loch - WOW Breakfast was just scummy and the all the team we saw where so lovely - service was perfect, nothing was a problem
