Excellent location, quiet and peaceful as it is located approximately 800 meters from Temple Bar but very easy to reach, via O'Connell Street. The area is also convenient to non-touristy and cheaper shops and pubs. Abundant and varied breakfast, possible to choose between Irish breakfast and International breakfast, both excellent. Every day they tidy up the room and change the towels. There is a little lack of attention to hygiene and detail because I found an object left by previous customers and a hair in the sink grate in the bathroom.
Overall I am very satisfied, I would happily return and I would recommend the Castle Hotel in Dublin.

Location, service, cleanliness and amenities were very good. However, the building itself is probably old, and every time someone on the upper floor walked, the room shook with a creaking noise, and I woke up frequently in the middle of the night. It may be an exaggeration, but at first I thought it was an earthquake. We think that room in front of elevator may be considerably noisy. My room was a single standard, so it may be different in a different grade room.
We stayed here for our last night in Ireland and the rooms were clean and modern and the staff was friendly and attentive. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner Fionn who was filled with Irish hospitality, and it resonated throughout the hotel. I only wish we had stayed longer. Thank you so much for a great stay

Booked here for my sons 13th birthday the 23rd Dec, when we checked in the man on reception said check out tomorrow is 10am and breakfast is served until that time, I was like ohh my email states 12 check out, (which i checked again) he said well you should have got one stating 10am, but I was like ok that's fair enough it is xmas eve tomorrow and people want to get home, no bother. I said so we have to have breakfast and checked out all by 10am? he said 10-10.30am give or take but you can get breakfast up until 10am. So we thought ok get up pack up room 1st then breakfast then leave for 10. When we arrived at our room they had put balloons and a happy birthday card on my sons bed which I had emailed about and he was delighted when he walked in. We had a lovely evening in restaurant food was lovely. Fast forward to next morning we get up pack up room and go down for breakfast at 9.30am after a few mins a waiter came over and was like, yes?? I said can we order some breakfast and he said no, kitchen closed at 9am, I said we were told on check in it was 10, he said I don't know why you were told that because its not, I said (I have 3 kids that were hungry and a 2 hour drive ahead) is there nothing we could get, he just replied tea/coffee. He was so rude, so up we went to check out. I complained to lady at desk and to be fair she was helpful and said we should of been served as it was meant to be 10am, she did go and get the kids a juice box and some fruit but I was so upset, to have paid/spent all that money in the hotel the evening before to make his birthday special and we end up leaving on xmas eve so angry and paying for a breakfast we didn't get. Maybe if you don't want people in the hotel xmas eve morning don't take bookings the night before and delivering half a service.

Every December we stay in the Castle Hotel. It is the perfect location with just a short walk down to the main shopping streets of Dublin. We stayed in a beautiful family room which was so spacious for a family of 5. The beds were so comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was beautiful and the children said the Chicken wings were the best they ever had. We then sat in the bar and enjoyed the live music entertainment. Our stay gets better and better ever year and the staff are always so helpful and can never do enough for you.

We walked into a beautiful foyer decorated lavishly for Christmas and we greet by friendly receptionists. Our bedroom was a high ceiling room beautifully decorated with coving and sections of wallpaper reminiscent of a Victorian grandeur. Tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water provided water in room along very nice toiletries and fluffy white towels. We ate and drank in the cellar bar and had entertainment provided and it was a lovely night. Dinner was freshly cooked and presented beautifully. Breakfast was in the music room upstairs and i could have lingered all day in the comfort of the place and the beautiful décor. All of the sitting rooms near reception are decorated for Christmas and one is nicer than the next. I recommend this family run hotel highly for a city break. We were only minutes from the spire and shopping quarters of Henry street and Jervis street and we strolled to Dublin Castle and had the most enjoyable evening at the Christmas markets

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Castle Hotel. The food, tea, and atmosphere were wonderful. A special shout out to Trevor who took care of us so well. At 29 Euros, it was a good value as well. We also used the hotel lobby as a photo op.

Our family stay at the Castle Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and the reservations, check-in and check-out process extremely efficient. The hotel itself was immaculate and filled with so much history. If you are fortunate enough to meet and greet with the owner, Fionn MacCumhaill, you will learn more about Dublin from him than any tour guide. I cherished our stay here and plan to go back the next time we are in Ireland.

The good news. The front of house staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is quaint. Breakfasts are good. The bad news. We stayed in Room 123 and had no power some of the time we were there, and no power at all at any time for the TV; hairdryer and kettle. The only work around offered was on the last of our 4 days, and was a long extension cable from the other side of the room, which we tripped over in the dark!. My wife could not dry her hair at any time. We were offered another nearby room, but that had no power either. On departure, the front of house said they would speak to the manager as they stated the standard was not acceptable for a 4 star, but despite this, 4 emails and a telephone call, we have heard nothing from the manager, or anyone else. The worst news. One of the most disappointing meals I have eaten in a long time. Ribeye steak OK but raw chips, uncooked onion, mushrooms and onion swimming in grease, and al dente veg that might have seen hot water for 1 minute. Tables left with uncleared plates for over an hour whilst we watched the singer. No offer of dessert or coffee, and no one came to take orders for any more drinks.

The staff is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Downstairs is the restaurant where I had the best meal and great live entertainment. The hotel is historical and the location is perfect for exploring Dublin City center. This is where I plan to stay next time I’m in Dublin.

Beautiful hotel , from the moment you enter there's a grand welcome . The rooms are spotless, the bed was super comfy . The food was exceptional. Very close to the centre , 5 minute walk . The staff were very polite and helpful . Many cosy rooms to relax in on the ground floor. Two restaurants and a tearoom also .
