The room is clean, Facilities: Complete and sufficient, Sanitation: Good Environment: Quiet I came to travel by myself and booked a hotel through Ctrip. Dublin hotels are very expensive. My requirements are that they are cheaper, closer to the meeting place, and can take a shower (the water is a little small, but it is enough), all of which are met. I especially praise the service of the brother at the front desk. I checked in at almost 12 o'clock in the evening. His English is not very good. He was very patient and helped me carry my luggage. In the morning, because I left early and couldn't have breakfast, he helped me prepare fruits and yogurt to take away. I forgot to take slippers in the morning, so he helped me take them down, helped me book a taxi, and helped me change some cash. I wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately there was no room. It was a good experience, but it was a pity that I only slept for 4 hours before leaving, hahaha, I forgot to take pictures, and the overall feeling was very good.

I used stay here very regularly since the 2000s (over 20 years) - nice rooms, great breakfast, and easy to get to the city centre from here. But just before lockdown, I went to book a room and they wanted all the money up front. When I questioned it as I had always paid the bill upon leaving as long as I was staying there (not that it was an issue) it was a take it or leave it response I got. Have booked any Dublin visits elsewhere since

A small traditional hotel which has been refurbished and extended out, all on one floor into an extension. Slightly odd layout and odd mix of decor, but clean modern and spacious room with everything that you might expect, pleasant staff and a good breakfast. Is accessible by public transport with bus stop outside well located shops and restaurants et cetera and has its own restaurant and bar. steep steps lead up from street level to the hotel itself and there are a few places where there are short stairs that require lifting of luggage.

For a capital city hotel the staff were honestly so friendly and helpful. It was just a short one night stay but the room was spotless and modern with everything we needed. I cannot recommend it enough. The location well served with bus routes. The breakfast was freshly cooked. We didn't have dinner.

wonderful staff, great food (free breakfasts) also at dinner in the pub. Live music. Very very comfortable bed. Clean and bright. Quiet rooms! Convenient location, near bus stop. Live music in the bar. There was 1 thing that I did not like: the number of staircases. Even using an elevator, you still need to be able to get up & down a couple of steep staircases to get into the dining room and to reach that elevator.

I wasnt happy. I booked this room last minute. I really expected more with the good reviews of it on here. The floor my room was on had a sewage type smell, I found the same smell in my room. There were obvious cobwebs and dust on the ceiling . A spider crawled over me during the night, having a major fear of spiders this was very frightening for me. The tap in the bathtub/ shower was faulty, took me 10/15 minutes to get shower going. This isn't good enough for the price. On checkout, I wasnt even asked how was my stay, I would have informed staff then, but they didnt bother even asking me.

It was my first trip away after major illness, so I decided to maximise my enjoyment by making my journey as easy as I could. Flights to and from France were bookended by one night stays in the Uppercross House Hotel in Rathmines, and the Phoenix Park Hotel, chosen for its proximity to Heuston Station and the train home. Had I known way back in January what I do today, I’d have booked both nights at the Uppercross House Hotel, and used the money I saved on the room to pay for a taxi to the station. My experiences at the two hotels could not be more different. At the Uppercross House Hotel my welcome, my room, my breakfast and every encounter with the staff was excellent. The staff in particular were exceptional: caring, friendly and professional. The cost of my room with breakfast was over €30 less than the Phoenix Park Hotel, and both my requests for a top floor room and a room away from the road were realised. In contrast my welcome at the Phoenix Park Hotel made me feel like a criminal. I always greet staff with a big smile. In response, in stead of “Hello!” or “Good afternoon!” I received “I.D. Please.” Then I found out that my booking didn’t include breakfast, and that no cooked breakfast was available. I accept both hotels are in the city, and therefore noise was inevitable, but the Phoenix Park Hotel ignored both my requests, giving me a first floor room at the apex of a busy traffic junction. Both window latches were broken, so I went to reception to request a room change, and was moved to another first floor room that also had broken window latches. Then I was kept awake all night by banging and thumping above me (that’s why I prefer top floor rooms.) The bathroom had a blocked sink and cracked floor tiles. Next time I stay in Dublin I’ll be at the splendid little Uppercross House Hotel, enjoying an evening down the road at Slattery’s excellent pub.

The Uppercross house hotel in Dublin For two nights prior to our cruise on July 24, 2023 we scheduled The Uppercross House Hotel located on 23-32 Upper Rathmines Rd, Dublin 6. Hotel selection was based on proximity to the cruise terminal. We were allowed into the room at noon. Hotel not offering transfers from the Dublin airport (DUB) to the hotel and taxi fare was 40 euro + tip. Room was clean, with Queen bad and double bad. We arrived to hotel at 12:20 pm and they allowed us in the room where prep work was just completed. To get to the reception one needs to go through steps and it might present an issue for visitors with heavy luggage or mobility issues. So, before stepping in ask receptionist how to get inside through the car parking area. Hotel also provided safe, electric tea pot with selection of teas and coffees. The breakfast is included with the room charges and they provided very good hot and cold breakfast selections. It was a good two nights stay prior to our cruise to Norway. Good Travels
