We stayed at the hotel as part of a Leger Silver Service coach tour. The temperature was in the 30's all week and we did as suggested and kept the curtains closed all day. It made no difference! No fan was offered and not even a free bottle of water. We were told the room would only be serviced every other day. Apart from the heat the room was adequate. Breakfast was excellent with everything you could possibly eat. Evening meal was a completely different matter. We were shocked to find that the menu each evening had one choice for each of the three courses. No alternative was offered. On one evening my wife could not eat either the starter or the main course. When she asked the waiter for an alternative she was told that this was all Leger paid for and there was dry bread on the table! As a former coach driver myself I have stayed in numerous hotels (good and bad) over the years but I have never berore stayed in a hotel which did not offer ANY alternatives. The portion sizes were miniscule. The main course one evening consisted of a tablespoon of spinich, a tablespoon of rice, a sliver of sea salmon and a dash of sauce. City centre can be reached by tram which stops a short distance from the hotel or by taxi which costs 19.5 euros each way. Hotel could be good but badly let down by the way it treats tour passengers

Great location, the tram is 5 minutes away, parking spaces in the courtyard, which is very good and you get a friendly welcome, I can only recommend it. You also get a street map and the breakfast is first class.

Ein Wochenendtrip führte uns wieder einmal nach Dresden. Mit dem Ringhotel Residenz Alt Dresden fanden wir eine ideale Unterkunft. In Leutewitz liegt man verkehrsgünstig zur Autobahnabfahrt "Altdresden" und mit der Straßenbahnanbindung auch zum Zentrum und allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt. Das Hotel liegt ruhig in einem Wohngebiet, zur Straßenbahn läuft man in weniger al 10 Minuten. Leider ergibt sich durch die Lage ein Parkplatzproblem, da man mit den Anwohnern um die Plätze auf der Straße "kämpft". Gegenüber gibt es zwar noch eine Tiefgarage, die aber vom Hotel aus nicht zugänglich ist. Wir haben sie nicht getestet. Unser Zimmer war geräumig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Auch unter Coronabedingungen, mit Maske und eingeschränktem Betrieb war es doch ein angenehmer Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer ging vorn hinaus zur Straße, war aber trotzdem auch bei offenen Fenster in der Nacht ruhig, da die Straße weniger befahren ist. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie absolut üblich. Sicher wäre es auch möglich bei einem der umliegenden Bäcker frische Brötchen zu bekommen und statt dessen auf die Aufbackbrötchen aus dem Supermarkt zu verzichten. Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und bekamen zum Abend stets ein abwechslungsreichen und schmackhaftes Essen mit mehreren Auswahlmöglichkeiten in Buffettform geboten. Gern kommen wir zu einem Kurztripp wieder.
