This was an absolutely great find! I'm originally from the area, and needed an overnight stay to visit a friend who was only around for a couple of days - Boxmoor Lodge was perfect, and for the price paid I was most impressed with the quality of the room. I stayed in 14: it was a decent-sixed room, with an equally nice bathroom (with bath). The room was well equipped with all the usual things you might expect (tea & coffee, bottles of water, hair dryer, TV, etc.) and even had a trouser press. I was perfectly happy here for an overnight stay after meeting friends, but I'd be equally happy here if I were travelling for work. One thing in particular that I really liked is that the building all seem to be single storey - I don't think there is any upstairs (not for other guests, at least) so there could be no unintentionally noisy neighbours clomping around above me. In fact - being in the room I was in - I couldn't hear any traffic at all, so all in all I had a decent night's sleep in the comfortable bed. I'm also quite precious about my car and always nervous about where I park. If this is something that also troubles you, then I can say that the parking is very generous. While I was lucky enough to score a standalone parking space, all the other parking spots seemed large enough that even the most careless neighbours would have a hard time opening their car door onto your car! I opted for a cooked breakfast (at extra cost) on top of the free continental style breakfast included with the cost of the room. Breakfast was lovely, and set me up well for my long journey home. All in all I was really impressed with Boxmoor Lodge, and it will be my first choice next time I'm down south and need somewhere to stay.
