We were upgraded for free to a room with bathroom which was super nice. The owner is a great person. The restaurant closed at 1 october but you have a full kitchen you can use to cook your own food. Great stay. I recommend it.

本來以為來了個鳥不拉屎的地方晚飯堪憂,結果自帶餐廳而且出品跟服務很好,推薦毎日新鮮魚還有當地的啤酒🍺

We had one night here in a superior double room which was very large and clean. It was comfortable. We ate at the hotel restaurant because there was really nowhere else to eat. Basic food - we had burgers. Breakfast buffet was adequate. Nice outlook over the water from restaurant.

We had a very pleasant stay here. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There is no TV available. Room temperature is centrally controlled so there is no individual room thermostat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at their restaurant and it was superb. My wife had the cod and I had the halibut. Both were excellent. The provided breakfast was very nice. The hotel is right on the water across from Grimsey Island so it was quite windy.

We arrived pretty late and only stayed for a single night but it's one of those places/hotels where staying longer would give it more justice - nevertheless we appreciated the very nice and friendly staff, good breakfast and overall the entire property - pretty cool location right on the shoreline with a view of the Grimsey Island (there is a small placard with a story of the island right in front of the hotel which was a cool short read). We opted with an apartment which was a bit pricier than I would be willing to pay at about $260 for 1 night (breakfast included) - but the price isn't why I give 4/5, namely the issue was the noise - basically in the 2 story building where the apartments are located you can hear people walking above you and it was annoying until they finally went to sleep and same thing in the morning when they woke up - I would simply either want to stay on the 2nd floor to eliminate that issue (our wooden floors at home make sounds too so we are perfectly familiar with it) since you would be "the noise maker" at your own time/schedule as opposed to be adjusting to someone else's sleeping schedule :) or stay in the other buildings, even if with the shared bathroom (in a retrospective). Don't get me wrong - I would totally stay here again as overall the place is perfect, just skip the apartments on 1st floor (see pictures with building showing rooms 15 to 21) and go (if possible) with 2nd floor or simply stay in one of those single level buildings - for what it helps our room was #16 and that's where the issue with noise was, especially above the bed area :( the room has plenty of windows but they all literally go right into the parking and the first entrance of the building so needless to say you have them always closed when you are in the room.

We had a bigger room with a double bed, a single and a bunk. A small sitting area with coffee-tea, a private wc and shower. Even though we stayed one night as we were passing through, our whole group of 19 were quite satisfied with their stay. Beds were super comfy! There was a breakfast option and I’m sure the staff still laughs as polite Estonians took their shoes off to go eat at the small restaurant 😅 The location itself is quite remote. When exploring, there’s a communal pool nearby which closes quite early but further down the road there are hot pots for also a small donation.

Our room consisted of an enclosed porch overlooking the parking lot and the bedroom and as soon as I entered the porch I could faintly smell mildew. We arrived during a rainy, windy spell. The sliding door and glassed porch was not installed properly and thus there was some water inside the porch in the morning and I could feel a breeze sometimes during the night in the bedroom. To get breakfast, you had to climb stairs which were not enclosed and thus dangerous given the weather conditions. While the room was clean, I would not stay here ever again.

A number of issues here. We got there after 6:00 (8 rooms booked) and the proprietor had left and given instructions for our rooms to another guest who happened to be outside smoking when we got there. Odd. Also their kitchen is closed at this time of year but our travel agent felt they might open up specifically for a large group. Took days of communication to get an answer that no they would not (this is a remote part of Iceland so not many food options). We did request breakfast and had to remind them several times (it was just for our group and they charged for it over and above the room rate) and each time it was like they'd never heard it before. To top it off , we had one guest in a single room and two sharing a double and all three had bed bugs. Would be hard to point a finger on where they got those if they hadn't seen them. A shame to have these problems as the rooms are huge.

basic but clean accommodation, well out the way from everything, very peaceful, none of that matters as the 5 stars is 100% deserved for the food, it was exceptional, the staff were attentive and the service was quick, stayed for three nights, had fish of the day twice, it was that good.
