AI Summary
The property provides spacious, clean rooms with excellent amenities and a friendly staff. However, guests found the dinner prices to be excessively high, lacking value for money. Conveniently located in a quiet green area.

Looking forward to a stay of several days here, and paid a premium for a room with a terrasse. Well, the terrasse was small, with an old, unappealing table and chairs on it. It was bordered on two sides with a wall, on one of which was a window looking on to the breakfast room, and to get out of the terrasse, one had to duck to avoid hitting one’s head on the drain pipe on the other wall. The third was a hedge, and other terrasses did have hedges surrounding, but really should not call this room a terrace. Then the room was right across from the breakfast room, so promptly at 7 when breakfast started, and even before there was non- stop clattering and loud talking till the end. Further, we were asked on checking in if we would be taking breakfast at the hotel, and we decided no. They said they would remove it, imagine our surprise on checking out to see the breakfast included for each day on the bill. It was removed, but not sure this was « accidental »? Plusses, the room was spacious and clean, there were bathrobes and slippers supplied, though the bathrobes had a strong chlorine scent, and were a bit thin. There was ample free parking. As noted there is a restaurant in the hotel, no other eating establishments in walking distance, but several a few minute drive away. Desk staff were helpful arranging dining at nearby restaurants when hotel restaurant closed. Dinner was ok, service slow, wait staff seemed overwhelmed - working hard, not enough for the number of tables.

We stayed for one night while cycling through Burgundy. Lovely hotel if a little corporate in style. Excellent indoor and outdoor pools, spa with sauna and steam room. Pleasant grounds. Room was modern but fairly small on ground floor. Dinner was overpriced compared to other hotels we had stayed in. Dinner service was somewhat rushed and impersonal. Breakfast area was too small for the number of people using it and the choice was somewhat limited.

A top-class hotel in every respect. Spacious well laid-out room with adequate bench top space, a good bathroom layout, excellent air conditioning, friendly helpful staff. And to top it off, a top-class restaurant, La Garenne, as part of the complex, serving authentic French food at reasonable, if not exactly cheap, prices. And with a good selection of local wines from the region. Since the hotel is out of town, being able to eat in was a must. Breakfast also good.

This is lovely small Hotel and Spa in a remote part of Burgundy between Givry and Mercurey. Lovely staff, excellent (not inexpensive) buffet breakfast and a nice small outdoor campus for walking and taking a dip in the pool. They have a well regarded restaurant which we could not, unfortunately sample as they are closed Sundays.

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it’s a regular stop over on our way either north or south. This time however we were quite disappointed when after 8.5 hours on the road - stopping only for petrol - we were told we couldn’t have a drink because the staff were having their dinner!! We sat down for dinner and the waiter said he couldn’t take a drink order until he’d taken our room number and given us a menu. Hello?! The bathrooms now have those horrid wall mounted soap dispensers reminiscent of public lavatories which are unreachable if you are actually in the bath tub. The food was as good as ever but we feel they really need to buck up a bit on the customer experience front.

Our first stay at this hotel and definitely our last. Was looking forward to our stay at this hotel on our journey home from the South towards the tunnel. I cannot fault our room which was a Superior room, very spacious bedroom, small sofa area and really good size bathroom with shower. Whilst I didn’t use the swimming pool having arrived quite late it looked very inviting. If travelling with a doggy which we were the rooms were doggy friendly and good green space to exercise. Our disappointment started when we went for dinner on the terrace which just happened to be next to the pool, whilst I have absolutely no problem with people swimming and enjoying themselves I don’t particularly want to be around this from a noise sense whilst eating my dinner. There needs to be a cut of time for the pool as there is in many hotels, as dinner starts from 7pm maybe this would be a good time. This aside we were surprised to note people being seated and given menus whilst we were ignored having been seated prior (not sure if this was a Brit thing as the majority of visitors were either French or Belgian). When we were finally given the menus written in French I struggled with a few of the descriptions as they were very lengthy. Whilst I speak some french this was proving a little challenging. When the waiter finally came to take our order I asked whether he spoke English to which he replied he did so I asked if he could translate a few of the items. His answer was that he was busy taking aperitif orders and would come back. He never returned approx 15 minutes so I managed to decipher with the use of my phone. A different waiter then came to take our order which for me was french Guinea Fowl and for my husband fish in a bouillabaisse sauce. When this arrived the plates were so hot to the point of boiling hence sauces and vegetables were sticking to the plates. The Guinea fowl was so overcooked to the point of being mushy and very cool inside and the fish also was very over cooked and dry on top where it had been standing under a heat source. Once again we waited ages for our table to be cleared which didn’t seem to be the case for others. We decided to try a dessert as they looked quite good from what we could see on other tables but again struggled to get a menu. We asked the same waiter who previously didn’t return for a dessert menu, we watched as he served others and attended to them when all he had to do was bring along a couple of menus for us…. He finally brought them some time later. All in all a very uncomfortable time during the dinner service with a very, very rude waiter who’s name I unfortunately did not get. Despite the service the restaurant itself did not have the feeling of a nice atmosphere, it was very busy with tables very close giving a crowded feeling at times. Breakfast probably one of the most disappointing we have had travelling through France, hot options being scrambled egg which did not look at all appetising. Unfortunately I wou

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. From the moment you arrive to when you leave, the staff are friendly, welcoming and very professional. We booked a room with a terrace with direct access to the pool. The room has everything you need and was spotlessly clean. We took our evening meal in the restaurant and the food was to a very high standard and again the service was super. Just a very small remark, the main course could have been hotter, as it was very busy we think our meal had been prepared but took some time to be served and hence it was lukewarm. I still rate this hotel with top marks and we will be back this Sunday for a 1 night stay on our way home to Belgium. Well done everybody.

We stayed at this hotel twice in a matter of days as a stop-over on our way to Strausbourg and back. (June 8th and 12th). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant and comfortable. I enjoyed the use of the spa for a swim on the way to the Alsace and it was quiet with robes and slippers provided by the hotel. On our return we were given a room with a small terrace which led onto the outdoor pool where I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the evening before dinner. Like many French hotels the breakfast was inadequate with mainly a selection of breads and pastries which I am not able to eat. The scrambled eggs were tepid and slimy which left me only the cold meat or cheese to eat. This got me by on the trip up but on the way back I was beaten to this cold buffet by 2 staff members who proceed to take most of the meat. I know this was for them rather than for a guest as they were eating it from the plate as they left the dining room. We ate breakfast on the terrace. One complaint about the bathroom on our upward journey. The plugs didnt fit into the bathroom sink or the bath. I showered so it didnt effect me but my husband found it difficult to shave as we dont like wasting water especially as there is a sign in the bathroom about waste and re-using towels. On the journey back it was the same for the sink but we didnt have a bath. Finally, the outdoor pool was open for our return journey and I found it a very pleasant area with loungers for tables and chairs etc. However, when they opened the pool they had failed to clean under the pool cover at the top of the pool and there was a lot of green slime and algae. I know this could be difficult to get to but you just need to make an effort as, besides looking awful it could be a health risk. It is for the breakfast and the pool slime I have deducted a mark or it would have been 5/5.
