Treetops Resort

Wife and I went with friends and had a wonderful experience. Courses are great but the whole experience was made better by the excellent staff. The starters were awesome and special shout-out to Chris who was probably the most friendly and helpful starter I have ever met. Only complaint is the rocks in the sand traps. (Unfortunately, I was in them a lot). Rooms are very large but a little dated. Breakfast buffet was really good. Head into town for dinner.

We were there 9/14-9/17 for our annual Fall golf trip. Group of 12 guys. The Jones cottages are very nice. Food was good at Legends and at the sports bar in the same building. Our biggest disappointment was the golf courses. Tradition was very much dried out. Like brown. When we mentioned this to a starter in the AM on day 2 he acted like this must have been an accident. Pretty bad mistake if so. Premier and Signature which we played on Day 2 are basically the same course. We love elevated tee shots but the number of very elevated greens is too much. We are all exhausted from walking up and down so many hills near the greens. And the condition of the tee boxes is unacceptable. Many Blue/White tees with nearly no grass remaining. Literally hitting off dirt. Greens conditions were OK but with the severity of undulations the speed on average was too much. Nothing like hitting a 5-6 foot putt 15-20 feet by and/or off the green which was not an isolated thing. Threetops is a fun novelty but once you’ve played it a couple times we all agreed don’t really need to repeat the experience any more than that. With all of the great options in MI I think it will be quite a while before we return to Treetops.

A group of us went out to dinner at Legends restaurant at Treetops Resort in Gaylord. We started with fun drinks. Enjoyed amazing rosemary focaccia bread with a pesto olive oil for dipping…yum! There were six of us and everyone ordered something different. It all looked scrumptious!! I had the sticky ribs, let me say, I will for sure be ordering them again!! Yes…we had to have some dessert….cheese cake, key lime pie, and (my favorite) flourless chocolate cake. Make sure you go visit soon!

Snow tubing was a blast. The runs were in good condition and fast. The guys working there were fun and made us laugh. Skiing was good. The rental equipment was ready when we got there. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Let's start with the room. It was ready when we arrived at about 2:30 pm. We checked in and proceeded to our room. The room was clean. No complaints there. The furniture is well-worn/damaged and could use an update. The room (in the lodge) was a good size and pretty comfortable. The pool was about a foot low on water and cold. It seemed too cold for any adults. The only place I saw adults was in the hot tubs. Last year the pool was comfortable inside and outside in February. We ate at the Sports Bar. The food was delicious but it took over 40 minutes for our food to come out after we ordered. They told us it was because they had to make another batch of mac and cheese because they ran out. We went tubing. When we picked up our tickets, they told us they were overbooked and we would have to share tubes. There was a staff member constantly yelling at people to share tubes and that if your session ended you had to leave. We paid too much for the tubing for them to have overbooked. Even when not "overbooked" the 2 tubing runs cannot handle the number of a full booking. In 1 hour it seemed we spent most of the time waiting in line. Now for the reason they get 4 stars from me: The ski/snowboard experience is phenomenal. Especially for beginners. Everyone we worked with on the slopes went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable time. Our reserved rental equipment was set aside and ready when we arrived. The ski school staff are amazing with kids and adults alike. I could not keep up with my 8-year-old son, as we were both snowboarding for the first time. After our initial lesson, I bought him an additional lesson so that he could continue on the bigger hills. The staff took good care of him and showed him some intermediate stuff that I could not have. We had a nighttime snack and breakfast at Bar81 in the Lodge. The food and service was good. It is a nice place to sit and play cards or a board game after the kids have had enough of the pool. All in all, we had a good time and are looking forward to next year.

We have flown up from Florida for the past few years to visit Treetops. We had such a great experience this past weekend. Friendly staff went out of their way to make it a nice time. Also, the 7am breakfast at the lodge was very convenient for our 3 kids (ages 9, 8, 7). Also, lots of fun extras like tubing, sleigh ride, scavenger hunts, and more. Thank you and see you next year!

Ski rental had my equipment waiting, they helped me in my boots! We love this resort, worth the travel. The hills are good sized, my son lived the terrain parks this year & the snow conditions were great considering our weather. We come every year & will continue!

went to Treetops with my wife went for a tubing and couple massage . we spent two night their . The Staff was excellent and so helpful, They gave us great places to eat at.The spa was great the masage was wounderful. The indoor out/door heated pool was great. would go back so much do do their.

JOHN the Shuttle Bus Driver Was AMAZING. Nicest friendliest Guy EVER. So Sweet. The Waitress at the Resort restaurant with prettiest green eyes ever was the best server ever ( Emma ) The skiing was great. The slopes groomed perfectly. The prices not bad at all. The food excellent. Great little resort. 70% cheaper than Boyne. Good value.
