The MOST AWFUL place in the entire Isle of Man. Greeted by a woman with the WORST ATTITUDE on the island. She berated us for taking a photo outside the hotel for absolutely no justifiable reason and therefore we decided not to stay, what a disgusting way to represent the island to customers/tourists. AVOID this hell hole AT ALL COSTS there are plenty of cheaper and cleaner places to stay which are also better located and with more welcoming hosts/owners with actual decorum and warmth.

I went solo with motorbike for four nights, it was a base and I’m pretty aware and open minded. Perfect location, beach right over the road and bike parking right outside. Walkable to night life and railway etc both directions. Secure at night and clear entry system after hours. It’s a traditional place which is fairly quiet outside TT etc, so don’t expect a huge atmosphere. It’s not modern/Scandinavian, it’s old fashioned and basic. The staff were perfectly hospitable and responsive, but I’m sure they could be sharp if pushed. If you’re realistic and you’ve done your research it’s fine, I paid about £46 a night including breakfast so be realistic. Of course it would be good if the lift worked but it’s clear it doesn’t and probably won’t. So yes it’s a climb to the room, I’m 64 and managed fine. My room was small but it was a single, no view but I didn't ask for one as I would only be there in evening, if I was going to spend my break in the hotel I would probably upgrade or go elsewhere. En suite shower was fine but I’m fairly athletic so anyone of bigger build might struggle more. Sink was small but again all functional for what I wanted. Breakfast was fine, some tables right by the window were great with nice views. I had been worried by the bad reviews but I guess bad reviews are always likely from some if they thought they were going somewhere upmarket. 7/10 would be my score, if you want 10/10 then get your bank ready and go somewhere else. It did me just fine, I’d go back, but I can see elements of what some reviews are saying. It was clean, secure, great location, good breakfast, and great value for money.

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a rude and unhelpful welcome! Both manager and owner were aggressive and disrespectful! The hotel itself is in a beautiful location but as soon as you walk in it has a dirty and dark feeling to the building. Our room was along a maze of tiny corridors, and so small we could only just walk along the side of the bed, it was overlooking a wall and even with the lights on, we could hardly see a thing! The bed was hard and felt as though it would fall to bits! The tv was the smallest one I’ve ever seen and the ariel was broken, I had to stand on a chair to reach it to switch it on! We didn’t feel comfortable trying breakfast as the tables in the bar area were dirty and sticky! When we requested to be moved to a different room, we were met with hostility from the owner and a man who we think was the cleaner! We were basically told if we don’t like it, we can f@@k off! Avoid!!

The rooms were clean. The beds and bedding were good quality. Lashings of hot water. Lift not working but we were told before booking. Breakfast was good. Above all - value for money. Very affordable. I'd go there again certainly. After all, it is on the front. Roger

Trevelyan. This is not a hotel for tourists or visitors to The Isle of Man. It is a hostel for lone single men who are not tourists. I suspect funded by the local authority. There are no families or women staying there. There is a weird atmosphere, the reception staff hide in a locked staff room, only appearing when someone rings the doorbell attached to the empty reception desk. I booked to stay 7 nights but left after 1. (And booked elsewhere) I went for a drink in the bar upon arrival, they don’t open it, there were 2 men sleeping on the sofas in the bar area. The TV in my room had no signal. I could not secure the lock in my room from inside because it had been tampered with. They seem so proud that the lift doesn’t work that they tell me it’s mentioned on their website (why not just get it repaired?) When I complained, before leaving the next morning, to the formidable manageress/owner, Mrs Bridgette McGuire, she was threatening & personally abusive. “I’ll throw you in the sea, ‘cos you need a good wash” & “get out you baldy coot” she said, (I am bald). Hardly the behaviour of someone running a respectable establishment. She had all the charm of a spray of diarrhoea down a flaky brick wall (with the smell).

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel was ment to be staying at sea breeze but was moved to here the location is brilliant the bed and room was comfortable BUT the room was very dusty and the floors were not level there was only one power point in the room the breakfast was passable very limited choice and small portions and very cheap coffee. There is a small number of migrants being housed at this hotel that i was not told about when my booking was moved The bar never opened the inside of the hotel was very dated and dark I wouldn't stay here again
