Just back from our week long trip to isle of man to see family and friends. Stayed here for the 2nd time. Unfortunately our ferry was delayed on the day off arrival so didn't get there til 1am. Messaged Shirley to let her know, this wasn't a problem. Upon arrival we where greeted by Adi, who was fab. We appreciate you waiting up for us. Nothing was to much trouble the whole week. The breakfast was to die for this is our fave part. Shirley, Adi and the team where fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning next time we're visiting. Thank you. Xx

Absolutely the perfect place for a wonderful stay! Because it’s just off the promenade you get the views with less auto noise! Besides the lovely rooms that offer stunning views, there is a delicious breakfast, and the perfect location! Shirley is the most amazing host. She is friendly, helpful, and kind. She helped us celebrate my brother’s birthday. Little secret… enjoy your delicious breakfast seated in the front room looking out the window as the sun rises over the ocean!

Just back from a four night stay at the Edelweiss and have had a fantastic time. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable and warm with a wonderful view of the sea. Sitting in bed with a cuppa watching the sun come up with the sight and sounds of the sea is very special. Shirley and her team are so friendly and helpful and we found the hotel to be a very relaxing place. There is so much to see and do and Douglas is a great base with excellent public transport. Everywhere is incredibly clean and the people are lovely. Looking forward to coming back next year and will definitely stay at the Edelweiss.

The Hotel was very tired looking The rooms were clean and comfortable but very small the lift was so small it would only fit one person I was frightened it would break down so many stairs no good for elderly or disabled the breakfast was ok but a bit expensive. The hotel was quite a long way from the shops etc. I would not stop again

I refuse to believe that this Guest House Has such a good award from Trip Advisor. I have always held this website in High Esteem. The Guest House looks and is very tired. Windows are Dirty. Some areas have been cleaned up. Reception reminds you of a Fish and Chip Shop Counter and there is a stale smell. The carpets don’t look clean. The old wallpaper has been painted over and over until the pattern has almost disappeared. When we opened our bedroom door a man was lying the bed eating biscuits. It appears he had been given a pass key and let himself in the wrong room. My Aunts room albeit non smoking smelt of smoke and the carpet didn’t look clean. The door to the bathroom was chipped all over showing black paint. The crockery was chipped. However the beds were clean. My Husband advised the Male Receptionist we weren’t happy. He offered us some Chocolate Biscuits. He advised us the owner was away on a conference. We went to Breakfast and the Staff were very sweet and courteous trying to please. The food was plentiful but the staff uniforms were dirty, stained and greasy. This puts you off eating. We were in the difficult position as we had paid upfront for this accommodation when booking. We had no alternative but to stay. We couldn’t wait to leave.

This guest house is a little gem set in a very good location. The staff are all very polite and helpful. The host is superb always there to make sure everything is availablefor you. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is fantastic with choice of everything from continental to a buffet style cooked breakfast which was always piping hot. The rooms are really nice too with tea coffee and biscuits supplied daily. My only criticism is the shower cubicle had a shower curtain instead of a door but that's just my preference. Apart from that I can't say enough glowing things about this establishment. To top it all theres even a lift which is deffinitely a plus for people with trouble climbing stairs. Would highly recommend and I'm definitely going to return myself.

Just got back from a 4 night stay here and found it to be an excellent hotel. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday along with a bed change. We didn’t have breakfast but from what others said, it was very good. Lift to all floors which helped me greatly. Shirley, the hostess, was really pleasant and polite. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Douglas.
