What an incredible stay at Barazar Zanzibar. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are immersed in luxury and decadence on another level. We had a two bedroom villa which was huge. The en-suite to the master bedroom was colossal and luxurious each villa has its own plunge pool, small kitchen, lounge, all of which are enormous. You are on a small complex here with 30 villas so meals tend to be with your fellow residents . Every other day they have a theme night and the food was prepared by a Spanish chef which was out of this world . This is the ultimate ‘chill-out’ resort

Our group was 6 people, between the ages of 28 and 65, staying in 3 separate rooms. We stayed for 3 nights. This resort is very nice and the staff was friendly. The ocean setting was beautiful and beach was well maintained. The landscaping was so lovely and lush. It was a really nice place to enjoy the quiet and relax after almost 2 weeks of safari trips and gorilla trekking. The hotel helped us with a guide for a wonderful city tour and we had a great snorkeling trip arranged with them. In spite of all that, we have reservations about recommending this hotel. There was a mistake with one of our room types when we checked in. (The manager was helpful in getting this resolved.). The rooms are accommodations were dated, food was limited and B-grade all-inclusive resort quality; staff was also lesser than those from our other stays in Tanzania (perhaps we were spoiled by the very special service we had at each of the prior three places). The Baraja service was slow, language barriers were more significant, the check-out clerk mistakenly charged us $36,000 dollars instead of $3,600 dollars and it took a week for them to issue the credit to our card. They delayed our departure to the airport by 45 minutes while they tried unsuccessfully to reverse the charge.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Baraza Resort & Spa – Paradise Found! After an unforgettable safari through Kenya and Tanzania, we wrapped up our adventure with a stay at Baraza Resort and Spa in Zanzibar—and let me just say, it was the perfect grand finale. Baraza is one of those places where every detail has been carefully crafted to create pure luxury, peace, and pampering. The Villa: Our villa was over the top—spacious, elegant, and beautifully decorated with Turkish/Sultan-style touches. Huge closet and bathroom, a comfortable sitting area, and our own private plunge pool (a little chilly, but lovely nonetheless). We were steps from the beach loungers, and the area was quiet, serene, and wonderfully relaxing. ️ The Food: Every meal was excellent, but the standout was a private seafood lunch on the beach—easily one of our favorite moments. We also loved the elaborate breakfast buffet (seriously impressive) and the attentive service at every meal. From drinks to dessert, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. ️ The Vibe: Baraza knows how to make you feel like royalty. We didn’t leave the resort for two full days and had zero regrets. Between the beach loungers assigned just for us, the drinks and snacks delivered with a smile, and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere—this was our slice of paradise.

Even the hotel foyer makes you swoon! And it just gets better from there. Our villa for 5 was beautiful and well appointed. The vets were so comfortable and the staff kept it impeccably clean. Meals and service were five star, indeed! Angela was our personal concierge and she did not miss a detail. We enjoyed a couples massage and it was exemplary. Wish we had more time to relax and enjoy all of the amenities, but from there we took our kids (teenager and 20-somethings) on the snorkel tour. Do this! The sea life was beautiful and the reef very much alive! Pool and beach were beautiful and we spent hours lazing around, recuperating from 8 days on safari. Not only would we return again and again to this piece of paradise, we truly did not want to leave.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Angela, our villa host we have been spoilt. The villa is beautiful, clean and airy with a huge bath, day beds (inside and out!), a plunge pool and a minibar. The food has been exceptional. Every breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, bar snacks and dinner has been beautifully prepared and presented. Some nights a buffet, other nights a 5/6 course dinner with a theme. The bar staff are great, always keeping an eye out in case you need a drink or a snack. The pool, beach and sea are lovely. Borrow some reef shoes and go for a walk at low tide along the beach spotting crabs and beautiful shells. The gym is good and the 2 massages we had were top rate. The yoga and meditation sessions were inspiring. The water sports team were great fun. Moosa took us on the snorkelling trip, which we’d highly recommend and on an organised reef walk where we spotted star fish, sea cucumbers and beautiful coral. The only downside is that we have to go home.

My son and I spent 5 days here after safari. It’s a beautiful hotel, the grounds are stunning and the 2 room villa was very comfortable. Service was excellent throughout, the standard of the food was extremely high and we felt welcomed and cared for. We didn’t have any difficulty finding a sunbed by the pool or on the beach and were well served with drinks while there. We took a trip into Stone Town, arranged by the hotel, which was very interesting. All in all a very special stay.

A beautiful and luxurious space to relax & unwind after two weeks of travelling on safari in Kenya & Tanzania. There is plenty of space in both the individual rooms and public spaces. A beautiful setting amongst the mature palm trees. The staff are excellent; lots of warm smiles and attentive service. Lots of interesting food choices with excellent use of local spices and served in different locations within the hotel grounds. A beautiful 25m swimming pool a short distance from the beach. Diving, Hobie Cat sailing available too. We didn’t use the spa but the facilities looked sumptuous. The rooms and public spaces are maintained to a very high standard. We would love to return.
