After 3 years of a pandemic and 1 year of heavy international unrest, my husband and I decided that we had enough, we wanted to unplug, disconnect from the world, look for some serenity, at least for a while. So we decided to spend 17 days in this resort. Things have changed compared to what we read in the reviews: the owner who treated guests like family is no longer there, and the new owners have left the management of the resort to the staff. However, this hasn't changed things much, because the staff is wonderful, we have to thank everyone, from the gardeners, to the girls who clean the bungalows EVERY day, to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant, to the security people, to the new manager, Laurent, for their courtesy, their joie de vivre, their interest in all guests, their tranquility. The resort is quite small, made up of 6 bungalows, two of which are directly on the beach, and the others hidden in the beautiful tropical garden kept to perfection by gardeners who are just as friendly as the rest of the staff. There is also a central building, which houses the reception, with a beautiful library and vintage local art objects, and the restaurant. Throughout the resort there is WiFi, which also works very well from the rooms and the beach, and air conditioning in all rooms. It is a different, but very relaxing experience, having breakfast at the restaurant, where there is no buffet, but you are served with simplicity, yet cordiality, by the always smiling waitresses and waiters, always with words of kindness. While we had breakfast, it was also interesting to watch how little yellow birds built their round nests upside down on the leaves of the palm trees. Or a couple of little monkeys eating leaves at the top of the trees, without bothering anyone. Our bungalow was one of two on the beach: it is very large, has two bedrooms and a huge bathroom. The furnishings are vintage here too, and fit very well with the atmosphere of the place. Furthermore, there is a beautiful patio, equipped with a sofa and an armchair, both outdoor, both vintage like the rest of the furniture. This is where we spent most of our evenings, enjoying the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shore, very close by, and the evening breeze. At Anna di Zanzibar there is no entertainment, evening shows, or music. But we also liked this, precisely because we wanted to disconnect, to be at peace. By day, you can sunbathe in one of the resort's private beach cabanas, or take excursions to nearby beaches, or even rent a boat from locals, and head out to the coral reef and snorkel. Near the resort there is also a diving center, where, if you want, you can go diving. The beach outside the resort is also very beautiful,
