A lovely hotel with a warm, professional welcome. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and of course there's a perfect pint of Robinson's. The room was warm, the bed was very comfortable and the only sound was the birds in the morning. It's a lovely place to stay.

Fabulous rooms and comfortable. Nice bar and excellent food for evening. Good selection on the breakfast menu. Generally a fantastic place to stay in a lovely town. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Stayed in a double room for 1 night. The room was ok, but a little bit tired looking. We could have done with a fan as the room was very warm. Had to leave the window open but it was quite noisy with people passing by. The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. Had to park on the pay and display car park, only 2 mins walk away and was free of charge from early evening till 10m the next day. Breakfast next morning was plentiful and tasty.

This was my second stay however quite disappointed this time. Two rooms booked and a substantial amount spent on a 2 night stay (over £700). We had a small family room and a double room. Both rooms were quite dusty around the furniture and plenty of cobwebs around the rooms and lighting fixtures. There was a blown bulb in the double room and in the family room there was a blown bulb in the bathroom above the shower. I appreciate this is an old building, however the water pressure was quite low and the temperature of the water fluctuates all by itself. Especially not good when showering children as you’re not able to figure out when the burning hot water was coming or the freezing cold water. Not a great experience. In the double room whenever the water was used or toilet was flushed the pipes were making an awful noise - a groaning noise that lasted about 20/30 seconds each time. Fans were provided and they were full of dust - having dust flecks being blown onto us was not great. The double room was not cleaned after requesting a clean and no clean towels left for the next day. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming however there was an occasion where I parked in the car park to drop my family off for ease (a cancer patient and children) a female staff member came storming out almost yelling at me “you can’t park there that’s a reserved spot” It was the way she approached all bolshy and rude. I explained that the cancer patient was feeling unwell and I was just dropping off and was going to move (there was a road barrier in the spot) as I could tell there were no spaces to park. She then changed her tone towards us but the damage had already been done. Obviously there was no apology for the assumption that I was just going to dump my car in a space that I clearly could see was not usable. Unfortunately due to this I will not be booking to stay again.

Quite expensive - we stayed in a twin ensuite £200 one night for that price I presumed there would be a fridge in the room there was space however no fridge. I've stayed in five star hotels in London cheaper than this however my family were staying here and I got a lift with them so this is why I booked I was expecting five star.. The room was nice and was very big as was the bathroom. Although for this price I again was surprised to find scuff marks on all the walls (room111) for such an expensive room it really was unexpected . I would suggest management take the room out of service so the decor can be dealt with. On a plus note the staff were very nice and accommodating

Stayed here for the Sesiwn Fawr festival. We come back every year. Love this place, so convenient to all amenities. Rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfast beautiful, all staff are lovely and friendly. Love sitting outside on a sunny day watching the world go by with beautiful views of Cader Idris. Highly recommend this place. John is just the best
