I am a well travelled 50 plus person and The Mansour Suites Hotel has got to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in! I stayed there once before and at the time, i registered several complaints direct to the management. He assured me that they would action all the complaints (dirty room, blood stained bandages on the floor and general poor service, faulty AC etc)...like a fool i gave them the benefit of doubt and stayed there again this weekend. On check-in, I informed the (NEW) duty manager of the problems encountered on my last stay and I made it clear that I expected better service this time around. I tried to check in at 2.30pm, but I was told in an aggressive tone by indignant front desk staff that check in is only from 3pm. I left and came back around 5pm and checked in. The 3rd floor corridor smelled of rotten food and sewage and the room was filthy, with lots of dirty stains on the carpets, walls & curtains and the bathroom appeared not to have been cleaned for a decade and there were no towels in my room, nor in my friends room next door. We both complained individually and a staff member reluctantly delivered 1 towel to my friends room at approximately 7pm, I followed up on my complaint several times using the WhatsApp number provided (because the telephones in the hotel didn't work), and i finally received one damp towel at 8pm! There were 2 guests in the rooms for a 2 night stay and we had to constantly remind staff that more towels were needed. I eventually received a second towel almost 24hrs later. The Hotel claim to offer Breakfast as included on some tariffs, or as an optional extra on other room types. When i enquired about breakfast, I was told that there is no restaurant facility and therefore no breakfast available in the hotel. My friend that made the reservation was told that breakfast WAS include in the tariff. The staff were all very rude and had no concept of customer care, they should not be working in the hospitality industry. In summary, Mansour Suites are a great example of how NOT TO RUN A HOTEL, in my opinion they should be removed from Qatar Tourism list of hotels. The only good thing about the Hotel is the amazingly hospitable Red Lion Pub, with great atmosphere, great staff, great food and great live music!
