+ Central located friendly and helpful staff at the reception - mosquitos in the room. No real windows with glass in the room, so it was very noicy. No water in the toilet flush. The whole hotel is old and shabby, the Pool was very dirty. Nobody cleaned it.I think the staff can do Something else beside watching TV. We found cockroaches in Buffet table. In the restaurant they tried to charge us 10.000 TSh for a simple lassy although in the Menü was written 6.000 TSh. In my opinion its a Cheat. If you see the Pictures of the hotel then you think in the first Moment its a nice place, But its really Not. Better avoid this hotel!

Had travel with my office freinds - Good Customer care - rooms are clean and well maintained - Very good garden for romantic dinner , pool are also very clean will deffinetly come back when in dodoma .

This historic hotel is right across from the Dodoma Train Station and was originally one of the chain of railroad hotels in Tanzania. It was for a time in shambles and then renovated sometime in the 1990s. The ambiance of old colonial times is still there. However, it is mosquito central. The swimming pool is not maintained and is the color of pea soup. The central courtyard has an unused bar pool which now only serves the purpose of a mosquito breeding ground. There are two restaurants. The main hotel restaurant called 'Italian' is nothing but Italian. It serves the basic Tanzania foods. There is also an attached Chinese restaurant with Chinese cooks. The food is good but the service is horrible. It says no smoking but that doesn't stop the local smokers. The rooms have anemic AC units and are full of mosquitoes. They do spray the rooms each evening and the mosquito nets are good. They have an airport shuttle but charge $15 for an airport run. You can hire a local taxi for $4 for the same run. There is free WiFi but works well only in the courtyard--spotty in the rooms. I worked in Dodoma 20 years ago and came back here for memory lane. Not again!

A group of my colleagues stayed here for about a week while doing volunteer work in the greater Dodoma area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were able to help us with somewhat odd requests like freezing our ice packs and carrying our heavy boxes. The breakfast food was basic but filling. Great juices! The food off of the menu was tasty and had a wide variety. They helped us book a massage which was great and well-priced. The rooms were very nice-- they spray for bugs so we didn't have any issues. Hot shower, good plumbing, comfy beds. The common area is beautiful with flowering trees and plants. The gardeners made sure not to disrupt a mother cat and her newborn kittens. I will absolutely return, and highly recommend this hotel.
