I treated my mum to a special trip for her 60th birthday as her first time in Tunisia and overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. We usually prefer more independent, explore-the-town type holidays rather than resort-style all-inclusives, but this hotel pleasantly surprised us. The animation team were definitely the highlight particularly Emmy and Masha. They were warm, friendly, and constantly went out of their way to engage with guests. Their energy and kindness made such a difference and really added to the holiday vibe. That said, there were a few downsides that are worth mentioning. First, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the air conditioning in our rooms, which was quite unpleasant. Also, the reception staff during the day weren’t as friendly or helpful as we’d expected, a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the team. One practical issue was that the hotel expects you to pay for everything in cash which was surprising for us coming from the UK where we use contactless/card for almost everything. It would be helpful if this was made clearer ahead of time. Another frustration was with checkout. We had paid for three people and asked if we could keep the room a little longer on the final day, especially as our flight was later in the evening. Unfortunately, they wanted to charge us extra for this even though we’d already paid for 3 people for the whole holiday despite only 2 of us attending in the end. It felt a little inflexible and not in keeping with the otherwise warm experience we had.
