Downton Lodge Country B&B

A very comfortable stay in a delightful area. Everything was good but the welcome and attention from hosts, Mark and Andrew was exceptional.

Have just enjoyed an excellent week at Downton Lodge - Seaview Barn. Well equipped, vry clean, comfortable and warm with wonderful views and scenery. Our hosts Andrew & Martin were friendly & professional and Andrew cooks a wonderful breakfast!

Simply the best, hard to add to previous reviewers who have said it all, but a real gem of a place , spotless, everything you could ask for and beautiful people running the place to boot. Thank you Andrew and Martin and hopefully see you again soon

Fabulouse place. Excellent hosts. Lovely clean room, with fabulouse view. Breakfast freshly cooked with great choice. Eight minute ride to Dar**outh. We visited Coleton Fishacre Kingswear (National Trust) and Blackpool sands. The most beautiful beach. Will definitely return.

We stayed for three nights at Downtown Lodge in the barn. We found everything to be top quality and Andrew and Martin were wonderful hosts. Perfect location for access to the coast, great pubs and restaurants and walking. We loved the seclusion without being totally isolated. The barn was really well equipped and had absolutely everything you could need for a self catering break. We love Dar**outh and the area surrounding anyway and have visited several times. However from here on, Downtown will be our base for exploring.

We stayed in a room overlooking the garden with a nice view and huge comfy bed. The room and landing had everything you could wish for in a B&B, it was clean, comfortable and very peaceful. The host made us feel welcome and did a superb English breakfast cooked with a little love. It’s in the countryside so expect a single lane farm track to the property but it’s worth the trip for a peaceful location.

What a gem. 💎Just a few minutes drive from Dar**outh with views to die for. Set in beautiful surroundings with panoramic views of the sea and undulating Devonshire hills. We stayed in the main lodge but had a sneak preview at the barn conversion too. The decor, carpentry, panoramic windows are simply stunning. So much to look at. I asked when I could move in 😆 Martin and Andrew couldn’t do enough for you and were the absolute perfect hosts. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. 🤗

we went for a night away and had a wonderful stay, Andrew was in touch as soon as we booked with a warm welcome, directions and providing plenty of information about local places to eat/ visit. when we arrived Martin was very welcoming and friendly, we were shown to our room which out did our expectations, spotless, warm and luxurious. nothing was too much trouble for the duo and we topped our stay off with a fabulous breakfast. only thing left to say is a big thank you to Andrew and Martin and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The room and facilities were first class with a sumptuous bedroom, delicious and superbly cooked and presented breakfast. Martin and Andrew could not have been more perfect hosts. We will definitely stay again!
