We have never wanted to stay in Dire Dawa but we had to stay there because there was no bus to Harar because of political problems (riots). The nearest hotel to the bus station (coming from the train station) was the MM Hotel. We had a double room and 2 single rooms and both have been great. They have been VERY cheap, clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff has been extremely helpful and nice. It was the best experience in Ethiopia at a time of political problems (not for tourists)

MM hotel has a lovely garden to welcome clients. Rooms are ok, some equipped with jacuzzi. Staff was very helpful, food so and so (avoid the burger if you can, stick to Ethiopian food). You won't need an alarm clock thanks to the very loud singing from a nearby (I guess) church and the school located literally next to the hotel.

The MM hotel, an entertainment hotel, has a large garden as well as a coffee shop that is stylishly decorated with natural plants. The reception officers are wonderful in providing service and being supportive of what you want in the hotel while traveling to and before arriving at the hotel. I spent a total of 20 days in sustainable clean bed rooms. The waiters, especially Yared Berhanu, have a special talent in providing service to the customers. Their food is delicious, and you can order from either the local or international menus.

The Hotel Was nice and clean, but the female employees where Very moody and rude. I literally had to beg for a service I pay for I stayed for 3 days and on my last day I went to the bar which is located at the lobby with my fiancé and the service was trash and when I ask for there supervisor they said they don’t have a supervisor or manager they are very short tempered and don’t know anything about customer service the management should reconsider giving the front desk agents and Waitress some customer service training.
