Romantica Hotel Blauer Hecht

Recommended hotel for young and sporty people. The surrounding area is worth seeing. Parking for cars is outside the city walls.

Nice hotel with very friendly, hospitable staff. Location is perfect, a single street away from the main square in Dinkelsbuhl. Delicious breakfast and if you ask they will turn on the sauna for you. We slept there for two nights in two different rooms. We had booked 1 night but wanted to stay another night. Both rooms clean and good beds. Price-quality very good. Recommended! Tip: the beer on the hotel terrace is the tastiest in all of Dinkelsbuhl.

Highly recommended. We really enjoyed our two nights at the Hotel Blauer Hecht. Everything was to our satisfaction. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. On Sundays they even offered white sausages for breakfast. The restaurant is also highly recommended.

The hotel is located in the middle of the historic old town. It is easy to reach by car. Check-in was easy and the staff very friendly. We had room 123 on the first floor. It had been renovated. It was functionally equipped but the bathroom was very small. Overall, the hotel was undergoing major renovations to improve fire safety. The breakfast buffet was good. The breakfast room was decorated in a style mix between Biedermeier and modern. Due to the age of the building, it was not wheelchair accessible. We gave the hotel three points because of the furnishings and the very small bathroom.

We stayed here for one night - the hotel is showing its age, but is gradually being renovated and was OK for the price including breakfast. The restaurant is run independently of the hotel and unfortunately was not good at all: the fact that we had to wait almost an hour for roast pork (dish of the day!) and pork medallions was OK... but then unfortunately the spaetzle were missing with the medallions. When I asked, the answer was "That could be"... The spaetzle arrived 5 minutes later and had to be eaten with the now cold dish. Both dishes were also rather below average in terms of taste. A shame and annoying... even the fruit brandy on the house didn't help.

This is a review for the restaurant, not the hotel. We had spinach dumplings and tagliatelle with chanterelles. Dumplings, dry, unseasoned, we were looking for the spinach, only the Parmesan shavings gave it a little flavor. Tagliatelle were floating in water, totally overcooked, chanterelles were frozen food, no sauce, not even salt and pepper. The tagliatelle was only tried and left as it was. When I said it tasted good as usual, I unfortunately had to say that the dish was inedible and not even seasoned with salt and pepper. Answer: I'm sorry, you could have asked for salt and pepper. Unfortunately this was not possible as the waitress was not even on the terrace during the meal. She then became unfriendly when we asked her to pass on our criticism to the kitchen. No replacement food was offered, no coffee, nothing!! The full price was charged. Unfortunately there was no tip at all. We really hope that at least the service in the hotel is better. It's a shame, such a beautiful city and such disastrous treatment of guests.
