This was our fourth visit! Stayed in Catriona Cottage 2 this time but all the cottages we have stayed in have been equally excellent. The food was superb and the service was as faultless as ever. The personal welcome was a very nice touch and it felt as though we had never been away!

Excellent food. Caring and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Whole property was clean and smart. Super bedroom. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area and at the hotel. Convenient for the Inverness/Tain/Dornoch/Loch Ness area. We will return regularly

Just wrapped up a lovely girls weekend at Newhall Mains. The staff was wonderful (Ruth was especially helpful!) and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. Comfy beds, soft linens, beautiful scenery, and their very own highland cows! We had a fantastic Continental breakfast every day and a really delicious dinner one night in the restaurant. There's a ton to do in the area and the hotel provides free use of some e bikes. It's a short 30 minute drive to Inverness if you want some city time too. Very highly recommend them! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Came for a special birthday dinner, bed and breakfast. A beautiful, peaceful spot, the hotel and its grounds immaculate, the room very comfortable and clean with a super-cosy bed, though I would have liked the option of a firm pillow. I also expected more upmarket toiletries in a 5 star hotel and maybe a choice of herbal teas, but these are suggestions rather than complaints. The public areas are exceptionally stylish, with some very good paintings by Scottish artists on the walls. Lovely cocktail bar and restaurant, with huge windows looking out over the surrounding countryside. The continental buffet breakfast was delicious with a great choice. Dinner wasn’t exceptional considering the prices, but enjoyable enough. However, the staff were outstanding, friendly, attentive and welcoming. We live locally so will certainly come back, and book the sauna next time!

Very nice place and location, amazingly decorated. Pleased with the fire in the room after a long day walking in the highlands. Awesome breakfast, especially if you like berries and salmon !! However, dinner at restaurant is from a different level. The pasta were overcooked and the sauce had no special taste, I was really disapointed and mostly ate the mussels. Veal Milanese côtelette was oily and too salty. The mushrooms saved the dish. A bit sad for a place claiming at arrival to be recently Michelin recognised …. In room service requires improvement : no refill of water on 2nd day, same for herbal tea..
