Enticed by the photos on the website, which must have been taken by David Bailey and ‘Beach Front’ location we booked for a couple of nights. There was a shuttle bus to the beach which was welcome. The hotel is clean and staff friendly ish. We seemed to have booked a German pensioners conference as we were the youngest by a long way and we are middle aged. Despite having a recent upgrade the hotel is still tired and has the feel of a 1980’s Spanish package tour hotel. Autonomous and Soulless, especially the restaurant. Not impressed with a couple of sneaky charges for bottled water in your room and beach towels, not what you’d expect given the cost per night. The room was clean and compact with fabulous air con, which seems to be a rarity in Italy. However the thin walls meant it was noisy and it seemed our neighbours the room above were having an aerobics class at 6.30am. The knock on the door from housekeeping at 8.30am was also unwelcome., maybe it’s because of the surprisingly early check out time of 10am? On a positive note, the parking was free.

In a nutshell - all the staff are favolosi!! Before coming to Diano Marina, I was looking for a cosy and family oriented place and voila - it has everything - class, tidiness, elegant dinner and great service and most importantly you feel like home only better - with a view to the sea:)) i love family hotels and this one is amazing, I cannot wait to come back to this hotel, in fact, I would love to stay there forever!!:) thanks again for all the hospitality and warm stay!! Dear Hotel Metropol Team, alla prossima! Warm greetings from Vilnius!

One of the best hotels I have visited in my life. Perfect service , friendly stuff , very very clean place . We will definitely recommend this place to our friends , family and hope to come again soon:) thanks to each worker starting from reception , pool attendants , restaurant and housekeepers. Stayed at the Hotel Metropol for the long-weekend, and would go back in a heartbeat. Two things stood out for me: the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the place, and the stunning views of the bay. The staff were very friendly with us. My partner said that 'they make you feel at home with a smile', and that's true. Our double room was spacious and clean. Personally, I quite liked the balcony for the privacy it offered, along with an amazing view of the sea. For those like me who live in the city, it was so nice to be greeted by the sun and sea each morning. Location is great too. It’s just up the hills offering great views, yet only a 3 min walk from the beach with its many bars and restaurants, and maybe another 5 min walk from the town centre. You can easily drive into town too, if you want. There’s a large swimming pool tucked away for a swim and sunbathing, which I thought was great to get some quiet time. Overall, I found it very easy to relax and enjoy my time off at a place like this. A really good find for a getaway holiday. Would highly recommend.

Sometimes I wonder if it's my fault when the dining room is crowded, the food tastes bad, and it's served like there's no time. However, I believe that this 4-star hotel "Metropol" is completely overrated in the booking and rating platforms. The only nice thing is the sea view from the room. However, there was nowhere a description of the noise of the passing vehicles. For me never again!

The view amazing, the bartender amazing. The receptionist super bad and the it is NOT kids friendly. Retire people come, old people who don’t expect to have any children around. Old people with a level of tolerance to kids ZERO! I wouldn’t come back with my kids. Perhaps when I am old and about die

Rooms are modern and spacious enough. A bar, restaurant and Switzerland making pool means you don’t need to walk to the beach front every day. Restaurant serves great local experiences in decent portions. Great view over the Mediterranean. Air conditioning may not meet the summer heat.
