After staying at You & Me, the island sister resort, we knew the standard of the Cocoon Collection was very high and Joy did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived at Joy Island, we knew we were in for an unforgettable experience. We were welcomed off the speedboat with drums, a towel to cool down, welcoming cocktails and the island hosts. Our lovely host, Shahil, was amazing start to finish and could not do enough for us and constantly checked in to ensure everything was ok. Restaurant: Firstly, we were so pleased to see our friend Naahil who we met at You & Me. We would like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for making our holiday so special and treating us like royalty. He would never let our glasses go empty and remembered the little things which made a difference (I.e. our favourite wine and ice to go with it). We would also like to thank Hasan for providing us with excellent service and Dita for making us feel welcome as front of house. The food is buffet (we were originally worried about this) however there are live stations and the food is amazing! The tuk tuk van was a nice touch with lovely food and Udaya always served us with a smile. All of the chefs do a great job and the curries are a must try!!! Bars/Beach: We spent the majority of our time at the Umbrella beach (Palm Beach). This was a quiet spot where views to the sea were breathtaking, the water is so blue with the whitest sand. The service here was brilliant with Mustho & Hilson always looking after us - they never stopped!!! The variety of drinks here and also the main bar is good with varying cocktails, prosecco, beers & spirits). The cocktails were made very well and there is something for everyone. On the evenings, we sat at the Rainbow bar (the main bar and also where the entertainment was held). Mainly Biswa & Lateef served us here who would bring us over drinks when our glasses were nearly empty (they did this without even asking, we loved it). All staff were super friendly and always worked so hard. Entertainment changed every night with a different theme (e.g. white party, glow party, Maldivian night etc). The DJ always played really good music and the atmosphere at night was always great! Extras/Excursions: We did the dig in dinner, dine in romance & the lobster BBQ, all of which were great however we would recommend the lobster BBQ for value for money. Haku from the water sports team took us on some brilliant excursions where we swam with sharks, turtles and visited coral reefs. He always made us feel comfortable doing these excursions and we would highly recommend. Habeeb from the excursions team took care of us on the sunset fishing excursion and the sunset cruise (we even seen dolphins on this!!) - he was very knowledgeable and so friendly! Stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff is helpful. I requested a transfer from the airport by email in advance. 50 minutes shaking on speed board? About. It was only $ 100 per person because we went only to the couple. The return ride was a shared ride, so about $ 40 per person? was. The beach in front of the hotel! The best point for snorkeling. There were colorful, large and small fish. For activities such as diving, you will receive an application form, just write your wishes and give it to the reception. I dived. Is breakfast normal? is. It's not very delicious and the variety is less. . . Guest house rather than hotel? It is like. Since it is a local island, it has not been resorted. Recommended for those who want to enjoy the sea. Amazing place. We loved it here. We left to go to another island and, after 24 hours, returned to Ameera as we felt so at home here. The hotel manager is warm, gentle, funny and does everything possible to make the holiday amazing. Thank you so much. Chef Sir made special meals for our vegan daughter.
