Akaroa Top 10 Holiday Park

Nice place with stunning views. Our unit had everything we needed and the owners were friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night and felt safe and secure. Only a few minutes drive to the town; easy to find parking and wander around. Some nice cafes and restaurants.

After arriving in the evening we asked to cancel our 2nd and 3rd day booking. Having made the booking several days before, we didn't know that three days was too much. Being told we needed 24 hours to cancel we should have received one day's refund. Not impressed. As a Marketing Executive in Canada this would be reversed in my company.

The park has a great location to downtown (10 minutes walk) and was VERY clean. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a spot on a weeknight late February. The showers/toilets were fabulous. Hair dryer in the woman's restroom.

The Akaroa TOP 10 site was the most beautiful location with the most stunning views out of the eight TOP 10 Holiday Park sites we visited in our two week drive around South Island. We were blessed with a magnificent sunset after a delicious meal in town.

We love our weekend getaways to Akaroa in our caravan, we enjoy the campsite, the views are incredible, everything is close by and the facilities are top class. The pool is the best, warm water and refreshing on a hot day. Pack your togs! The staff are super friendly too.

Very nice site with spectacular views but, be warned, the access to the town is very steep and unless you enjoy walking back up a steep hill after dinner you will want to get a taxi or make sure you have food in the van. We did tge latter and enjoyed dinner with a view. The site itself is also steep but the facilities are spreadd over the site so none are too great an uphill walk. The pitches themselves are mostly fairly flat although chocks would help in some places.

We headed to Akaroa for a two night stay, being a busy weekend we opted for budget friendly accommodation. The park has stunning views, the team are very helpful and friendly and the cleanliness of all facilities from communal areas to bathrooms was exceptional. It’s a short walk into town and a great place for kids.

We booked a premium site with a sea view but when we arrived we were very disappointed with the site. They are very very close together and I felt like I was in a car park. The awning from the van next to us was about 20cm from our van
