My husband and I travelled to The Remote Resort for our 25th wedding anniversary in July/August, 2023 and it’s absolutely impossible to adequately describe the beauty, tranquility and shear perfection of this slice of heaven. We’ve previously travelled all over Viti Levu, the Mamanucas and Yasawas but this was our first trip north to Vanua Levu. It really is a hidden paradise where the sea meets the rainforest and it’s absolutely worth the extra travel to get there! The amazing resort staff made our stay the best we’ve ever experienced, not just in Fiji, but all over the world. The friendly, helpful staff, the beautifully designed and appointed bures, the heavenly massages and outstanding, attentive service are just some of the amazing qualities of this magical resort. We chose the daily massage package and highly recommend it! You can choose where you’d like to enjoy your massage ~inside your air conditioned room, outside by your plunge pool, on the grounds listening to the waves. Wherever you go, you’ll feel like you’re in heaven!! The “special” extras, luxuries and treatments you’re usually charged extra to enjoy at other resorts are all included in your stay at The Remote Resort. To say we felt like royalty for the entire week here would be a gross understatement! Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the beautiful staff. One of the many examples of this was when I left my medication at home. I mentioned this in conversation to the driver collecting us from the Taveuni airport and he took us up to the local doctor to get me a prescription. He then arranged for the script to be collected by another staff member from Labasa ~over 2 hours away! I was just blown away and so relieved when my medication was delivered to my room very next day, no doubt saving our whole holiday!! Our room was perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need for a perfect, private getaway. We stayed in the Royal Retreat and loved that it was away from the main building. Our private plunge pool was great for a quick dip, especially after snorkelling. Or you could skip the pool in favour of your private, outdoor, hot shower if you’d like to wash your hair! The indoor bathroom was even nicer again, with a great view of the water and double sinks to save waiting for your partner! There are plenty of activities and trips to choose from each day or you can spend your days in secluded paradise, only seeing people when you explore the grounds, visit the main building for meals/activities or use your room’s mobile phone to call for your meals to be delivered! I couldn’t possibly leave a review without a special mention of the mouthwatering, delicious meals, most of which are grown on the plantation or caught in the surrounding waters. Every meal was easily comparable to the best restaurants in Australia. The flavours and freshness of these exquisite creations was one of the highlights of the whole trip! One of the best things about the meals and snac

There are no perfect words I can use to describe this incredible place. It is a small, secluded boutique resort and is very special. Remote Resort’s house reef is outstanding, as is their staff, their food and their service. I love coming here where each unit has privacy, quiet and a little dipping pool. It is heaven. I can sit quietly and read a book after a snorkel adventure or other outing. My husband and I asked for a special snorkel excursion on the morning of our departure and they made it happen just like that! This was our third trip to Remote Resort. Each time they add something new. This year, they set up a full PADI dive operation and have added a massage and a spa pavilion. Zoe, Helen and Kim are all Dive Masters and experts on the Rainbow Reef, the Somosomo Strait and surrounding areas. They will take excellent care of you and show you the most amazing dive sites, private beaches, hidden bays and coves. Just Wow! The 8 villas are beautiful and well maintained. The staff and owners take great pride in what they have created here. All supplies are brought in by boat as there is no complete road into this resort. I am continually amazed at the food selection and delicious meal options. Every meal is beautifully plated and delicious. Each night, the resort sets up private dining tables for guests. It is obvious to me that the staff makes every effort to make your stay perfect for you. Just tell them if you are celebrating a special occasion or would like something special. The owner and management are on property and remain fully at your service. I am well traveled. I have experience snorkeling/diving in many countries. I am knowledgeable on the various resort choices in Fiji. I have stayed at Namale, Matamanoa, Qamea, Taveuni Island Resort and spa and seen Matangi. Hands down I would choose Remote Resort over and over again. I have not seen a house reef anywhere in the world like the house reef in front of Remote Resort. It is pristine and healthy. If you are looking for excellent food, service and personal experiences Remote Resort is perfect for you. If you are seeking pristine diving and snorkeling Remote Resort is for you. This is a very secluded, off the beaten path, truly amazing experience. It is a perfect honeymoon and anniversary spot and an excellent place to celebrate a special occasion. We feel like family when we come home to Remote Resort in Fiji.

My husband and I have friends on Taveuni island nearby so when we mentioned this to our travel agent, this resort was the only one she suggested. It was not very full - probably at most 6-8 other guests. The staff were reserved and not the usual Fijian smiles and Bula's we were used to but the service and food was good. Disappointing that the bar and only wifi available closed by 9pm. We would have liked to socialize a bit more but this place's vibe was more about doing your own thing with limited engagement with the staff and other guests. We only had an outdoor shower and a fair amount of rain (darn tropical cyclone Mal) so showering in the rain was a different experience. Also, the toilet is inside but sink outside so you need to go outside to wash your hands. There is no main pool and we had a two person plunge pool at our bungalow but the snorkeling off the resort was fabulous. Zoe the scuba diving master was very knowledgeable and one of the most friendly there. The scuba diving was excellent! Overall, if you want a place with good food and a small plunge pool to hang out with your hubby/wife or other and read a book at your lodging, this would be an option.

We just completed a 12 day stay and it was simply phenomenal. The rooms are absolutely wonderful. The beds are super comfy and the room itself is spacious. We loved having an outdoor and indoor shower, and we swam often in our outdoor plunge pool. Our favorite activity each morning was watching the sun rise from the lounge bed on our balcony. We also loved all of the snorkeling and the special chances to dine on the jetty. The food was outstanding. Every single meal was scrumptious and it’s some of the best food I’ve ever had on a vacation. Don’t miss the curry items and the wonderful coconut deserts. (My spouse is gluten free and enjoyed every single meal too). And perhaps our favorite part of the experience was the wonderful time spent with the staff. Thank you to Valaria, Sia, Jim, Maria, Vasili, Fay, Mela, Zoe, PK and the whole gang. You made us feel so welcomed and we loved laughing with you throughout our stay. We cried when we left because we felt so much gratitude for the kindness you showed to us. Vanaka (vaca levu) ❤️❤️❤️

We got married and stayed for our honeymoon. The experience was beyond our expectations! The location and private villas are amazing - outdoor shower, plunge pool, air conditioning and unlimited water and tea/coffee. The room was serviced twice a day and we were pampered at every turn by the accommodating staff. Food is included and is so incredibly delicious, any allergy or preference was no problem. Dinner is served in romantic settings around the property on the water. Creative outings were curated for snorkeling and hiking trips. House reef is teeming with fish and coral is pristine. We can’t wait to return for our anniversaries!

My husband and I stayed at the Remote Resort for 8 nights in early November 2023. The setting of the resort, with its truly remote location and amazing views, is phenomenal. We loved our spacious villa with the beautiful and large patio and its privacy. We also loved the setting of the restaurant and lounge area, which has gorgeous views and a modern, airy, and inviting space. The grounds are meticulously kept and there is a nice little hike to a small peak and to the place where the boats are being kept in the adjacent cove. The meals and kind, attentive and patient Fijian staff were wonderful. Maria, Sia and Sitary told us so much about their villages and the Fijian way of life. The coconut demonstration by Vilisi and Paolo was also amazing and very informative. They showed how the Fijians use all parts of the coconut tree for food and to make baskets and mats and made us appreciate how they live off the land and do not waste resources. And the snorkeling.... The reefs are healthy and beautiful, there is hardly any current, and I felt very safe accompanied by Vilisi and/or Paolo. Due to atypical windy and wavy conditions, we could not enjoy the house reef as much as we wanted to, but the few times we did, it was really good. It is large with a lot of healthy, beautiful coral and a lot of fish. My husband had a good time diving in small dive groups. We had a fantastic experience at the Remote Resort - thank you to all the amazing staff.

With less than 10 villas, the resort offers a castaway experience in wonderful comfort. We loved the varied and private dining locations and the delicious meals making use of produce from the resort garden. Fantastic diving on the Rainbow Reef. Big thanks to the friendly team who brightened our stay with lots of smiles!

This was our second stay at the Remote Resort. Hard to put into words the spectacular views, meals, service snorkelling and SCUBA here. A pure haven. The staff are experienced, customer focused and very thoughtful. The meals are made from fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. On this visit we had a romantic candlelit meal by the sea. There is a lovely 10 minute walk up to the ‘Peak’, with vistas over the bays. Ideal for watching the sunset. The apartments are high quality, with undercover bathroom & outdoor showers. Lovely to have such a wonderful location to relax on the deck. Little details made our stay even better with insect spray, snorkel gear and Pure Fiji bath products., Zoe and her dive team (Kim, Helen & Wilson) are highly experienced and knew the dive Rainbow Reef sites very well. The dive equipment is of a high standard. Highly recommend.
