Great stay, the treetop house was super cute and less than 30sec walk to the beach. Make sure you do the Village Walk, 100% worth it!

This is one of the best resorts on the Yasawas for solo travelers; the dorm accommodation is large, clean and allows you to meet new people. There are also lots of activities and the food provided is great.

The resort was in a lovely location but is a little tired, understandable after covid. Even after a few emails requesting a double bed close to the beach they did not have one arraigned for us, they had put us in a Bure up the hill. I have tendinitis in my knees so that was never going to work. In the end they put my husband and I in a Bure with twin beds closer to the beach - not at all romantic! The meal plan was really expensive but the food was plentiful, unfortunately the restaurant was up the hill so it was a painful effort on my behalf for each meal. Unlike other resorts that we stayed in this resort required a daily fuel surcharge and we also had to pay a hire fee for fins. They did not put on Manta ray trips on either of the 2 days that we stayed there although there were Manta rays in the channel both of those days. Unimpressed. Luckily we had also booked nights at Barefoot Manta Ray Resort so ended up swimming with the mantas which was our sole reason for going. To be fair other people staying at MRIR said that they had been taken on Manta trips earlier in the week so I have no idea why they told us that there were no mantas on the 2 days that we were there - Barefoot Manta Resort said that on one of the days there had in fact been 7. This resort is much more of a backpacker resort although the high cost of the meal plan would give most backpackers a second thought.

Overall, it is very good and cost-effective. Although there are 16 rooms, it is very clean and the guests are of high quality. They are all young people from developed countries. The food is average, there are not many choices, and the price is not low. However, the manta that departed in the morning only saw Got one, a little disappointed, after all, it is manta season now

The service cannot be faulted at Mantaray Island Resort. The staff remembered our names immediately and used them every time we saw them. Nothing was too much trouble, especially for the friendly restaurant staff. Food was very good, with buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner. Some options were not available at lunch, but this changed every day and was clearly dependent on the boat deliveries. No issues here, there was always a lot of choice. Room was comfortable and spacious with an outdoor shower (beachfront villa). AC was much appreciated during the summer humidity. Other amenities perhaps a little more basic than other similar resorts. Snorkeling off the beach was first class and the snorkel boat trip well worth it and good value at FJD 59 - amazing marine life. We did experience one issue (out of the hotel’s control) while at the hotel, but it was dealt with perfectly and I cannot fault the response at all. Much appreciated.

Mantaray Island is beautiful and is a great option on the Yasawa Island groups to visit. You receive a lovely island welcome and cold drink..and especially thoughtful is the ice cold cloth they offer to cool you down apon arrival. The front beach bar area is great with soft seats and fans..Oh and one of the few Islands that don't have hoards of day trippers arriving to taking over everything until 4pm each day.. The staff are all lovley , especially Wise & the all the wonderful restaurant staff (except the dive staff who act very indifferent to guests unless your part of a dive group ) The food choices are the best we've had so far as you are given a choice rather than buffet style all the time. A beautiful rustic Eco resort, but once again like many other Yasawa resorts, sadly they are continually constructing new bures next to current ones, so it is very noisy when trying to relax in the day. It would be better to construct the bures for 2 weeks then allow guests for 2 weeks uninterrupted.. and build again in cycles.. as traveler's have paid alot of money to have a peaceful Island holiday..Roosters, dogs, birds etc are normal but constant construction is NOT!  Also no swimming pool so difficult to cool off if you want a break from the ocean. Another important thing to mention is the island set up. 80 % of the bures huts are built on a steeper grade. They are very small & clean in a tree hut style and come with a large ceiling fan to keep cool and lots of windows for ventilation. There are a couple of larger jungle houses up very high by the restaurant. However we did appreciate all the paths having stone concrete to walk on rather than uneven sand loke many others. But the down sides are..no private bathroom in the bures or coffee making facilities in the room unless you pay for the beachfront rooms. You MUST walk appropriately 100 metres and then climb very steep stairs to a communal long drop toilet.. It is an  ingenious idea along with all the seawater 💧 being desalination so the water is safe to drink, but we wouldn't recommend this island to anyone older than a very fit 60, due to the uneven ground and climbs to everything. The shower area is on the flat but the island is COLD WATER ONLY. The main reception and restaurant are also another 250 steps each way up an even steeper cliff face 🙄 You must do these walks several times a day to eat or pee. So if you are looking for a bit of luxury maybe try somewhere else. I'm told Volivoli is the place for 5 star in Fiji as the word RESORT is rather a long shot with the Yasawas unless your happy to pay $1000 per night, no exaggeration! However if you wish to dive or snorkel this place has it all 🐠🦈🐟.. teams of tropical fish off the beach (tho currents are often strong & unpredictable so only go out with incoming tides) They do have options for paid reef outings tho many other resorts offer these for free. However they do offer Kayaks for free and some other activities. All of the Yas

We stayed in the small tree house room, economical and fun. The hotel is renovating facilities, building a pool and bigger lounge, dive shop, etc. - should be done soon. Snorkel gear is FJD25 for the whole stay. Cocktails were delicious; food was fine. The staff put on a cultural performance, a solid meke with explanations of Fijian culture. Spa massage was nice in a beautiful facility overlooking the bay.

Beautiful getaway at a marine park in the Yasawa Islands. Incredible Staff. They need to update their underwater and accommodation photos. The food was perfect. All islands have to be cautious with what they serve and not waste food. They let you order off menu and you can order more than one dish if you’re hungry. This is very nice instead of a Buffet every meal. Breakfast is a buffet but they have made to order omelettes. You bill everything to your room and pay by card or cash at check out. The underwater life and beach is beautiful. I’ve dove all over the world and the only other snorkeling and diving that compares is Coral Gardens in Taha’a French Polynesia and Blue Corner in Palau. Aruba and Belize and even the Great Barrier are not as good for snorkeling and diving. The tree house bure was worth it to have some privacy. The dorm seemed to be acceptable to others, but I wanted my own quiet and space. It has open windows and a fan but not air con. There is a walk to another beach for sunset. The blowing of the conch shell when a Manta ray is spotted is beautiful and exciting. The channel is around the corner. The life here is worth the trip. A tree house bure for $100 usd a night HERE is MUCH MUCH better for water activities and reef life than $300++ on the islands of Beachcomber, Treasure Island or those closer to Nadi.
