Adelphi Motel

We had booked at a sister hotel but were redirected to this dump at the last minute. It may have been ok at one time (pics very outdated) but is now contracted to house the homeless with a few units for unsuspecting holiday makers. Even even the homeless deserve better. Shocking - filthy and unsafe. We refused to stay and are trying to get a refund.

Worst accommodation experience I have ever had. Dirty towel lying on the bedroom floor, dirty wash cloth hanging in the shower, stained towel hanging in the bathroom, hair inside the bed sheets and in the shower, heavily soiled carpet and just general dirt and smears on the walls and doors. No effort had been made to clean, tidy or sanitise. We left that night at around 10pm and text them the next morning to say we didn't occupy the room and required a refund. The property had not acknowledged our text or follow up email (with photos of everything) and when after trying to call them every day since June 6th I was finally able to speak to someone today I was told that they won't give us a refund as it's against their policy as we didn't tell them on the same day. We did call them on the night and get them to come and collect the dirty linen and sanitise the bathroom. They tried telling us they were in the middle of having their dinner but after we insisted they did show up while we were driving around town looking for another place to stay. When we came back and tried to go to sleep and saw the state of the bedding that was the last straw. We ended up waking up my brother in law and squashing in at his house. No apology whatsoever from anyone for our experience.
