I did not want to write a review but I decided this would be helpful for future guests. We are a family with kids from Canada traveling for the first time to Fiji. This is a 13 hour flight. We booked a 2 weeks stay in late 2022 for travel in early 2023. With a couple of weeks left for our arrival in Fiji they decided to cancel our booking with no explanation or no alternative means of accomodation. It was the worse experience ever, trying to find a budget accommodation in Fiji on short notice. When we asked for an explination or other options they did not care to answer. We were very fortunate to have another property step up and accomodate us on short notice. Thank you

The accommodation was ok but the food could be improved. In Fiji I do not like to eat rice every day. That is not traditional fijian food. They have kumala, cassave, dalo, breatfruit which is much better and healthier. I also prefer to eat my chicken meat without bones.

The place was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms are uninhabitable. They are actually extremely gross. The photos are incredibly misleading on all of the vacation sites. The rooms are full of bugs. There is no WI-FI and the power is shut off to the place from 6am to 6pm. If you are going to Fiji for vacation, just pay extra for a nice resort. Staying at this place is not worth it just to see Fiji. To enjoy Fiji, you have to spend a little more and go to a decent resort like Mantaray.

Not at all as described or as photos! We didn't expect anything & knew this isn't a resort etc. however description & photos on ******* are simply untrue. Currently cabins, main area, 'bar' looked nothing like this. The photos of the food? 4 days. Instant coffee, 3 pieces of toast pp, communal butter, strawberry jam each day (8-9am). You eat what you are given on your plate. Lunch & dinner was $20 per person per meal and was the same EACH time. A plate with: rice, a pile of boiled cabbage & carrots (often from the day or night before) a boiled root vegetable & either processed sausage or egg omelette. Once fish. Once a Lovo (earth oven) which was the above plus chicken. As per the description, there is no: grocery store, laundry, restaurant, drinks, in-room Wifi or wifi of any kind, no TV, bottle water, toiletries, fan, hair dryer. Did have cockroaches. You may or may not have a working shower, toilet or any kayaks. We are not fussy & even with all that would have been happy but be aware that there is no 'on the beach' snorkling here or friendly, caring staff, so there is nothing to do other than paid trips (2 choices), weather dependent. It's cheap, but the ferry to get there takes 5 hrs & is easily twice as expensive as a 5 day stay in the 'best' hut. What we ended up spending on transport, trips & food could have easily bought us a much nicer place with snorkling out front anywhere else. Why is the description and photos here so misleading? What a shame.

FALSE ADVERTISING! Host was only money hungry. Waited 2 hours for our room to be ready which was disgustingly dirty. Toilet wasn’t connected to the floor and leaking all over the tiles. Bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. Dinner was awful, overcooked and overpriced. No other food on offer, not even snacks. NO SNACKS, NO BOTTLED WATER, NO SOFT DRINK. Staff hadn’t made a supply run and only returned with expensive speakers and beer. Place is CASH ONLY, with no communication of such. No ceiling fan, cables hanging out of the ceiling from where ceiling fan had previously been. Pedestal fan broken. Lights were not working at night, had to use our torch. Booked in for 2 nights, left first thing the next morning. Will not be returning.

A few bungalows in a cute garden makes a good first impression. But it seems the bungalows haven't been touched for 20 years. Beds were confortable, bathroom is probably the worst I have seen in 20 years of backpacker travel! There is electricity at night for lighting in the room but none of the travellers could manage to charge their phone in the room. Staff seems to only care for your money and their paid activities. None of the free activities on the board were avalable. Do not expect the traditional fijian warm welcome. Do not be fooled by pictures of musician and dancing on their facebook page. There is none of that anymore. The food served at breakfast and dinner was fine but lunch was not worth the money. Untill the owners decide to turn things around, the is no reason to go to safe landing. Although it's cheap, it is not worth the money. Snorkelling is decent but quite a good swin from the beach. I highy recomend spending a bit more and go the the dorms at Oarsman or Blue Lagoon Resort on the western side of the island were snorkelling, staff, amenities and service are top!
