Taveuni island resort and spa is very close to the airport but very quiet. The hotel has a shuttle bus to pick you up, and the welcome drink at the front desk for check-in is super delicious. The hotel is run by a New Zealand couple and everyone is very welcoming. The all-inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner package is a good choice for a hotel like Taveuni that is far away from the outer islands, and the three chefs change the cooking. It is not the same every day these days, it is super delicious👍! Love this place and will come back next time in Fiji! FIJI time, I Like it! A great place to escape from the world and waste time!

I would like to thank the hosts for the truly unique atmosphere of the resort. The level of guest care was outstanding. The resort is lovely. The cottages are very comfortable. In fact, you can enjoy the views and especially the sunset throughout your stay. There is, of course, plenty to do. The dive centre recommended by the hotel was extremely professional. The reef is beautiful. Costal walk and waterfalls extremely interesting. It was my best experience in Fiji. I spent 12 days on the island and my aim was to dive and explore. Many thanks to the owners their family and wonderful staff:)

We had the BEST time at your resort. The ambiance, staff, chef, lovely conversations with Do & Ric, immaculate grounds, infinity pool & our bure well exceeded our expectations. I have not been so relaxed in a very long time. We can't wait to visit again soon. We also loved the dogs & cats on the property. Thank you all so much for making such a wonderful place & experience. It was like a most fabulous dream with food that was absolutely off the charts.

We stayed at TIR for just over a week, early Jan24 and it was a magical experience. The local staff were so welcoming & friendly. The grounds are immaculate tropical gardens very well maintained on the cliff top with awesome views. We were particularly lucky to be looked after by the ‘June’s’ in the Matalau Bure where all our meals were provided. Both Chef June & our host June were just amazing. June’s cooking was outstanding using locally grown produce, cooked fresh daily. We miss her warm fresh morning muffins. We caught a Yellow Fin Tuna and she made several delicious dinners with it, including Sashimi. Each meal was 3 courses and we had to reduce lunch to 1 course as we were eating too much. No request was too difficult and her understanding of our dietary requirements was very much appreciated. Our hosts June & Raymond (for a few days) were wonderful. Always ensuring we had everything we needed and happy to enjoy a laugh with us. The rooms were always kept clean and they were serviced daily including turn down every night to turn the air con on to ensure a comfy sleep. Matalau also included a private beach which we used daily for snorkelling & swimming. Lots of coral and fish only a few metres off the shore. It was special to meet the owners Do & Ric (& all the puppies & birds). They take great pride in their piece of paradise and ensured we were being well looked after. We were very sad to leave and the staff all sang us a farewell song to wish us well.

We stayed at the resort 2 - 7 January 2024. The accommodation was modern, spacious and well serviced with a stunning seaview and set in beautiful lush garden surrounds. The meals were tasty and well balanced. Excellent friendly, helpful and accommodating staff - they knew and called us by name from the onset, arranged tours and spa treatments as requested. The owners also called in during meals on occasions to make themselves known and ask how we were. Fantastic swimming pool outlook. Quiet, tranquil and restful ambience.

Taveuni Island is known as the Garden Island in Fiji, and this resort, located in a privileged spot at the sea edge, offers the most amazing views where you can enjoy the most stunning sunrises and sunsets from your beautiful Fijian style bure. We stayed in the Veidomoni bure/cabin, full of comfort, generous space, and tasteful decoration. The outdoor shower is a great feature for enjoying nature in perfect privacy. Every evening, they prepare your bedroom, close the windows, and turn on the AC and the lamps, creating a pleasant ambiance while you are enjoying a delicious dinner. The couple that owns the resort are fantastic hostesses, always taking care of every detail of the resort. The staff is the friendliest people willing to help whenever you need them. They helped us to coordinate our different tours, from transportation to packing our food for a picnic and even having people from the resort stay with us during the tour. I recommend asking for all the information about the tour, including prices. The three meals a day are included, and the chef creates a variety of great options on the menu, including soup, salad, fresh seafood options, or another no seafood option, with a tropical yummy dessert. We had an unforgettable time in this resort and plan to come back.

Don't waste your hard earned money at this place. The owners have lost total interest and therefore so have all staff members. You will see I very rarely write a bad review but felt it important to warn others about this resort so you don't have your holiday ruined like ours was. This was the first time we have ever considered moving to another hotel during our stay - we were so disappointed and sad by the service (or lack of) that we received. I don't know what has happened to this place since the excellent reviews from a few months ago but we were so upset that our 'luxury' Christmas trip spending our hard earned monies was here. There wasn't a guest staying at the resort that didn't agree with us. The list of issues is too long. The main things that you should know: Do not stay here if you have dietary requirements or allergies. We emailed in advance to inform them that I was vegetarian. When we arrived they acted as if they didn't know - our first meal was Christmas day evening meal - and all I could have was some grated carrots and lettuce. Nothing was made for me. The staff promised 'to make this up to us'. They did nothing of the sort. They continued to offer me meat and act surprised when I reminded them I was vegetarian. Worse than this they fed another guest fruit that she was allergic too and she had a terrible reaction. The next day they offered her the same fruit. Honestly, they are clueless. The owners have no interest in the enjoyment of the guests. In fact they spend each evening going around the guests tables complaining about their financial difficulties, staffing difficulties, water supply difficulties. It's not what you want to hear when on holiday. Not once did they ask how our holiday was. In fact not once did any staff member ask how our stay was. The service is non existent. We often had no towels in our room. At one point we had no toilet roll for 2 days despite asking multiple staff members. We had to take some from the restaurant toilet and then our fellow guests offered to share theirs with us. The hotel arranged trips are also a total rip off - just don't organise them through the resort. There are much better options. Don't let this review put you off the beautiful island of Taveuni though - just don't spend your money with this resort and you will have a great holiday!

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Magical, Beautiful, Clean, Simply Stunning! We loved the people there as well... Storm, Naomi, Raymond, Gerard- you all hold a special place in our hearts. You helped make our honeymoon even more so special. We can't thank you enough for such an amazing experience. I cried when we left!

We were hoping a sense of adventure and relaxation to start off our honeymoon and Taveuni Island Resort was just that! From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by our driver to shuttle us to the resort. We were able to make the most of our time in Taveuni with quick and easily set up excursions often with a private guide or with another couple. We were treated like family our entire stay, and felt warmly welcome with all the staff greeting us by name. The food was amazing! I have never tasted papaya quite like I had in Taveuni. Our bure was large and had exceptional ocean views from the cliffside. We would highly recommend this island and resort for any special occasion or vacation desires.
