We stayed in number 6 which is the two bedroom unit, it is so clean and has such comfy beds, the kids loved it also, great to be able to listen to the waves lapping while you fall asleep, what’s also great are the hosts Lyn and Paul who have great knowledge of the area and where to eat but also love a good chat, thanks from C*#t Barwood and see you again soon.

Fantastic hosts, incredibly hospitable and went the extra mile to help us. Room #10 ocean view room is great. There are little touches in the room we haven't seen at any other hotel. Immaculately clean and looks refurbished. We wish we were staying longer. Thank you Paul & Lyn.

Great location with sea view and beach just across road Spacious, clean and comfortable room - can hear the sea at night which was lovely - great to have wooden deck chairs at front Close enough to town to walk to for amenities and activities such as kayaking

This was a quaint little Motel with Beach front view. We stayed with Great friends for 2 nights. The room was clean and well outfitted for 2 couples. Lyn was a great Host and assisted with our Dinner Reservations and eating arrangements as well as suppling us with site seeing recommendations. My Wife and I (from Long Island -New York) were visiting our friends from Nelson, and we stayed here with them for 2 nights. We had to relocate to another room due booking issues. But Lyn accommodated our every need. We totally recommend people stay at the Anchor Inn.

Our family had an excellent experience at the Anchor Inn Beachfront Motel. Our room was very comfortable and well-outfitted. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes and cooking tools we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the restaurants and shops located along the main street.

We arrived shortly after 3, and Lyn greeted us at reception. She is great, and she allocated us room 9, which is fully equipped to self-cater. It’s very comfortable, and it has a great patio facing the ocean. We stayed two nights, and it was one of our favorites in NZ. Lyn recommended the Pier Hotel for seafood. We were sad they didn’t have either crayfish or paua (abalone), but our seafood chowder was delicious. If you want that as your starter, be sure to ask - ours was served with the meal. We also ate dinner at the Kaikoura Indian Restaurant - it was delicious! We also had two fabulous breakfasts at the Encounter Cafe.

Spacious room, high ceilings, great kitchenette, everything in great condition. Beautiful ocean front view. Hear the wonderful waves. Innkeepers very welcoming and help you get settled in and find your way around. Fantastic place to stay in a great area to visit with extraordinary marine life.

We are so happy that we selected the Anchor Inn for our stay in Kaikoura. Lyn was an exceptional host and showed us to our oceanfront room. Never had that happen before and explained how things worked. The room was spacious and spotless, with modern and comfortable furnishings. The view of the ocean amazing!
