Extended Stay America Suites - Destin - US 98 - Emerald Coast Pkwy
2.8/589 Reviews
I've been a guest for a few weeks so I'll preface with this, I know a thing or two about this place. The Extended Stay America Destin is your GO TO when you want a home away from home. They offer a gym, laundry facilities, a pool area, and a bite to eat. Let's dig in! It's clean, VERY CLEAN. House service works almost 24/7 to ensure it's clean and sanitized. That's really important during a Covid crisis! I'd swear the carpets were shampooed daily! It's quiet and also private here! People come/go and I never hear a thing! The property is surrounded by beautiful trees. I'd swear I'm in the middle of nowhere! The opposite is true! World-renowned Crab Island is right up the street! Clubs like AJ's (where I've been tipsy a few times), the Rotten Apple, and The Boat House, are there also. And there's plenty for the kids too! Do you want to pet an alligator? Seriously, do you? Well, you can do that before or after you head to the arcade. SHOPPING!!!! Destin Commons is literally within walking Distance! Rent a boat for a small fee to brave the gulf? Where is the beach, EVERYWHERE! Right there on the property are plenty of places to just hang out and enjoy the sun's rays! You can BBQ and walk the dogs in the open grass areas! And the grounds are well kept! THEY EVEN HAVE A CAR WASH HERE! WOW! Hungry? The Front Desk staff are knowledgeable. A special Shout Out to Jessica! She's professional and pleasant. What more could you ask for!

Others are okay, that is, before the check-in, all the occupants must be over 21 years of age, not the same as those offered on Ctrip, because this incident has been dragged for a long time to stay, and the traces of Ctrip staff have been helping!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Destin E - Commons Mall Area

First off the picture of the hotel needs to be updated on the IHG website- this pic is years old and most likely reflects the property when it first opened. It isn’t even the same color anymore. 1. Upon driving up my teen stated that she was absolutely not staying here. The pool is very run down with debris in it. It is small and doesn’t look up-kept. This is not what we have come to expect from IHG properties. We are rewards members and stay at IHG properties around 10-20 times a year. 2. The whole hotel was dirty. The floors needed to be mopped and had sticky stuff and dirt all over them, especially in the elevator. I gave them grace- maybe house cleaning was sick. By day 2 it was still there. The check in desk is missing paint on the wall- it looks run down and needs touch up paint. It screams days inn- not IHG with an IHG price point. 3. Breakfast was a smaller spread than what most Holiday inn expresses have. My major issue is the egg white omelet was not an egg white omelette- it was the ham and cheese. It doesn’t seem like a big deal until you consider reglious and dietary needs- some people are allergic to milk and don’t eat meat. I asked the breakfast attendant if it was labeled correctly and she very rudely answered yes. Had I consumed this I could have had an allergic reaction. 4. Every employee that I encountered was rude and seemed put off. Upon checking in the attendant was clearly sick, kept sniffing snot back up her nose but was not wearing a mask. In conclusion I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Panama City. It has an amazing resort feel, gorgeous pool area with a lazy river and is actually on the beach. It is also the same price. Had we known the condition of this property we would have stayed in PCB and driven in to Destin daily for my Daughter’s tournament. I would suggest IHG quality control look into hiring new management- it clearly isn’t being run or up-kept to its potential and clearly doesn’t reflect the IHG brand.
Village Inn Destin
3.7/5102 Reviews
In reading reviews on this site and others, it sounded like the Village Inn would be fine for a one night stay on our road trip. However, the reality was far different. While I appreciate the fact that they are attempting to update their facilities by painting, as the saying goes, it's like ”putting ”lipstick on a pig.” It appeared very clean at first sight, parking lot was well maintained and the flowers and all greenery were very nice. Everything was fine until we got to our room. While it first appeared to be just old and outdated, it was soon obvious that it was also dirty. I spilled some water on the floor and used some tissues to wipe it up. The tissues were black with dirt from the floor. The bathtub was old and in serious need of replacement. The toilet was disgusting around the base and the entire bathroom needs to be ripped out and replaced. With that said, it was inexpensive and in a decent location to walk to dinner. As an aside, we walked to McGuires Irish Restaurant and had a fantastic meal.
