Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island

The moment we landed on the island, I felt so sorry that I had not come here earlier. Although it was a 35 min flight from Mahe, warm welcome by staffs led by hotel manager Budi would give you a wonderful first impression. The villa was beautiful with a generous ocean front garden and a large pool. Many huge hermit crabs actively crawling around in the garden and on the pristine white beach. Sands on the beach was as fine as powder. Service at all restaurants we tried was superb. Menus at both Claudine and Light House were very good for family with children. Since the hotel basically utilizes the whole Desroches island, you can go anywhere with a simple buggy call. We saw tortoises, sea turtles, sting ray, and a lot of fish, led by resort tour guide Christian. The resort thoughtfully provided all snorkeling gears, kayak, and bottled cold water at all beaches of the island. Any problem or request for service could be promptly resolved through hotel app with internet available in all facilities, although there was no cell phone signal. Sunset view was gorgeous. My daughter adopted a tortoise at the end of the trip to give us one more reason to come back. We will definitely stay longer next time. Four Seasons Desroches should be anyone’s choice if you want to have an unforgettable vacation in the Indian Ocean.

Just got back from 2 1/2 weeks in the Seychelles! Spent a week on Platte Island and a week on Deroches. Deroches is an absolutely beautiful island. The beaches are beautiful and it feels very isolated and quiet. We saw other guests at breakfast and then the rest of the day we were on our own. We had an ocean view villa which was well appointed and opened up right to a nice stretch of beach. There’s lots of wildlife on the island including tortoises and of course George-The patriarch. The food was excellent from breakfast to dinner. Dinner at Claudine and Light House were excellent. The Light House is a really cool place to spend an evening. The number one asset of this resort are the people. Everyone we encountered was genuinely kind and extremely helpful. A special thank you to Vivek, Cherry and Lai Lai who took such good care of us. Deroches Island is a truly a special place and will definitely plan a return trip.

Our stay at Four Seasons Desroches Island was nothing short of magical. Located on a remote island, Desroches presents logistical challenges that must be immense, but you would never know it as a guest. The personalized welcome we received set the tone for our entire stay. Knowing we were coming from another Four Seasons property, the team thoughtfully prepared a beautiful cake adorned with a cheetah cub to commemorate the first animal we encountered in the Serengeti. This surprise was even more meaningful because my best friend is passionate about baking, and the care the team put into this gesture touched us deeply. Special thanks to Budi, Joseph, Ali, and Christian, whose warmth and attention to detail ensured every part of our experience felt unique and personal. Christian, in particular, made our island experience even richer. His passion for the island’s heritage, combined with his expertise as a guide, offered us unique insights into its culture and natural beauty. From leading an enlightening island tour to introducing us to its conservation efforts, Christian’s stories brought Desroches to life and helped us connect more deeply with this remarkable place. The culinary experience was extraordinary. From breakfast to dinner, every meal exceeded our expectations. The dishes were not only expertly crafted but also celebrated the island’s flavors in an innovative and delicious way. Whether dining in the main restaurant, enjoying a dinner at the lighthouse, or tasting freshly caught seafood, each bite reflected the skill and care of the culinary team. Desroches is a paradise of natural beauty, with so much to explore. The property provides bicycles for guests to get around the island, and this immediately became one of our favorite aspects of the stay. Each morning, we set off to discover the island's many pristine beaches-each one feeling like our private oasis. From soft sands to azure waters, every beach we visited felt untouched and breathtaking. The island tour offered a fascinating glimpse into its diverse landscapes and its conservation efforts. One of the highlights was meeting and feeding the gigantic tortoises, whose slow majesty adds an ancient charm to the island. The conservation work done here, especially in preserving the local wildlife and natural resources, is incredibly commendable and added a sense of purpose to our stay. The activities available on the island were also exceptional. From snorkeling to cooking classes, each experience allowed us to feel immersed in the beauty of our surroundings. An absolutely outstanding experience. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and were truly sad to leave. But we've already booked for next year! Budi and his team run a flawless service. Our room was beautiful, spacious and perfectly cleaned throughout our stay. For us, what made this the most outstanding hotel of the many we have stayed at in the Seychelles was the superb food and flawless service. Other hotels often fail here. We also had an island tour and were impressed that the hotel is using extensive solar power and growing a lot of fruit and veg. The papaya is the best we have ever tasted. This is a top Four Seasons resort, an absolutely outstanding property. Vastly superior to Six Senses Zil Pasyon we also visited. Easy transfer via light aircraft (no issues with baggage) and warm welcome. Incredible island with a huge number of activities. Find your own beach and spend as long as you like enjoying the ocean. Great restaurants / Lighthouse particularly outstanding. Great beef. Service levels top top notch. Nothing too much of an issue. Great hotel for teenagers / lots to do. Giant tortoises amazing to see as well. Villas v comfortable. Well appointed and maintained. Easy to get to public areas. Downsides / WiFi v slow in all of the Seychelles as Starlink now allowed and a cheese soufflé was average. Beyond that / this is an incredible hotel.

We spent two weeks in this beautiful resort. It’s difficult to mention something in particular as everything was exceptional. We will begin by the most important: the service. Le level of service here is high above expectations and my husband and I are frequent travelers throughout the world: Fidji, French Polynesia, Maldives, New York, London, Paris, etc, always five stars hotels. All the staff are there for you, they anticipate all your needs each time and this has no value. The food is amazing everywhere with our preferences for the the Japanese and Lighthouse. The staff is so kind and are really there for you. The Spa is perfect and the therapists amazing. The room was perfect and the staff taking care of them did a perfect job. The bikes were so useful and we used them to go around the island, snorkeling from each of the different beaches, going to breakfast, gym and dinner. The snorkeling was amazing. We saw: turtles and rays (a lot), octopus, box fishes, sharks and a lot of different fishes. The beaches are beautiful and ypu feel like being alone on them. Usefully, we never travel twice in the same place but we will definitively come back to Desroches. the only thing I missed were some tables to eat outside at the Japanese restaurant.
