Rodeway Inn & Suites Hershey

For work, I stay in economy motels around 100 nights a year. There are few hotels I have ever stayed in that were as revolting and nausea inducing as this one. Firstly, it is now known as the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Hershey and it is a member of the "Choice Hotels' hotel group. The hotel did not answer the phone before arrival. When we got there, and I opened the door, the room stank like a body had been pickled it, My wife said it was probably just decades of mold. Even my kids walked in and ran out almost wretching from the stench. So we called up the night manager (Who barely spoke English). He started debating us, telling me there was no smell. Then we switched rooms and the second stank almost as bad as the first. The whole place is gross. The sheets were itchy, It was dirty. The only positive this hotel had to offer was some nice soap bars, but no amount of nice soap could wash off the grossness I felt after sleeping here. We paid over $160 for one night in a suite. In retrospect, even if they paid me, I would not stay here again. I recommend staying away at all costs. It might be run by choice hotels, but it is an awful choice for a place to stay in Hershey

Slightly off the beaten track in the middle of a nice residential area. Looked a bit odd when we found it. Checked in, opened the badly fitted door with a dodgy lock. Took in the damp smell, looked at the beds, old tv and older bathroom and reloaded the car and checked out. The most uninviting room I have ever seen and so bad it was funny. Even though we lost money we would not stay in this hotel.
