Looking for a place to eat in Derby we did a bit of research and settled on the Boab Inn. We both enjoyed the locally caught Barra … one with chips and salad and the other with vege. The Barra was cooked to perfection and the veg and salad was fresh. The staff were very friendly and inviting. The menu was extensive but when in the Kimberley the Barra is a must.

It is located in a safe area and ample parking is available in front of the Motel or if arriving by bus, an easy walk from the bus station. Alan has created a comfortable place comprising spotlessly clean dongas with a bar fridge in your room and self catering options. The communal kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment plus there is a microwave and BBQ for residents use. A communal outdoor eating area provides ambiance and a chance to chat with other guests. If you prefer, there is an evening takeaway option of tasty Asian food on the premises. Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Alan is a genial host, willing to advise on local attractions.. It is excellent value for money in an area where accommodation tends to be expensive. Highly recommended
