Hello Everyone, Derby Travelodge – Pride Park, is ideally situated if you plan to visit the Velodrome which I was. There is ample parking, which cost £3 (I think) for 24 hours so not to bad currently. I arrived a couple of hours early and tried to see if there was any movement on the 3PM checking time, I could have done but a fee would have been charged. However, I was allowed to sit in the restaurant until 3. At three I checked in and the staff were very helpful, once I had my keycard I headed for the lift (elevator) to take me to the second floor. My room was well made up and there was nothing to complain about there, I was on the side that faces the car park, so I was able to occasionally check my car. The downside was there was a slight rumbling from the passing road. At five I went off to the velodrome for my training session and returned at around 8:20, after a quick shower I went to the restaurant for some dinner. I must say that the food was edible but not wonderful. Nevertheless, I was grateful for some food after my efforts on the track. I woke around 7:30 after a good night’s sleep and headed for the shower. The soap dispenser stopped working, so I popped up the top and scooped out the soap. Clearly not perfect but I found a work around. Back to the restaurant for breakfast, after the previous night’s meal I had some reservations about eating there again. Much to my surprise the breakfast was really very nice. What a shame the quality is so variable with the food. In summary: Great staff, nice clean room, comfortable bed… I know these are budget accommodation, but they just let themselves down with the little things and inconsistencies. Would I stay again, YES, but would pick something different on the menu for dinner and keep my fingers crossed. I hope the review was helpful. Stay happy, strong, and healthy. Paul,,
