Booked this hotel to attend a nearby wedding. Average hotel. Wasn’t overly clean and the floor we stayed on had a hint of sick smell. Average night sleep - bed comfy but annoying fan/air con noise flicking on and off all night. Then building work nearby early in the morning. Car park a 5-10 min walk away, which was mildly inconvenient. Worst issue was breakfast - I didn’t book breakfast, but opted to go down around 10am to grab something before it closed at 10:30am. Myself and partner paid £22 for full breakfast. When we got to the buffet, there was hardly anything left. He had a small portion of full english (I’m talking 1 of each item). I was left with a single slice of bread, beans and a sausage. The only thing left on the continental was cereal, I hoped to have some pastries. I understand we came down later but when there’s still 30 mins until the end of breakfast, I would have hoped to have more left. The waitress should have let us know there wasn’t much left rather than letting us pay £22 for the worlds smallest breakfast. There wasn’t even any coffee left in the machine to have latte/cappucino. Didn’t complain at the time as had to rush off home.

Pompey fan attending match at Derby. Ground walkable. Close to town. Ideal location and friendly locals point you in direction you need to go. Clean well presented hotel with friendly staff and nice welcome. Biscuits in room with festive chocolates was a lovely touch. Breakfast was good as well.

I've left my belonging behind at the restaurant which might look nothing precious and no one can be blamed even if it was desposed. But the staff helped me a lot finding it, and later it was found and I was able to have it back. I really appreciate their kind help.

Stayed here several times and I've never been disappointed. It is a great location and the staff seem friendly enough. The only thing to now be aware of is that the car park opposite is closed. I found another one over the bridge. At £5.50 for 24 hours it did a job.

We booked a 1 night stay and meal deal. The meal deal was for 2 courses. We ordered a starter to share and a pudding to share. We were offered the new festive menu and the whole meal was lovely, very tasty, good size portions and very friendly and attentive staff. The meal also came with a free drink and as it was Prosecco Friday we got a free Prosecco each too! Definitely recommend a visit!

Starting your weekend with a breakfast at the Premier Inn, Full Street, Derby is always a treat - the staff are really excellent particularly Mark who looks after us so well with the rest of the Restaurant team. The breakfast buffet gives you a wonderful choice and if you are wanting a hot breakfast food you will find this cooked to perfection by Adam and the kitchen team which completes a wonderful Saturday morning experience thank you all

Staff friendly, clean and reasonable hotel, good location, meals were tasty and of a good standard. Breakfast up to standard. Steff, Lyle and Callum made my stay a lot better than it could have been - Lyle running reception and restaurant at the same time, but still managing to sort needs - overheard he was only recently started, so very good! Lyle and Callum sorted out food allergies/intolerance on a busy night for the chef, really appreciated that, as it meant I could sleep well! Steff sorted out another night where I wanted to eat in my room, good food, packaged well so I could take it up! Room clean and tidy, serviced when requested. Bathroom clean. If a company is expensing their stay with you, it would be very good to find out about charging the card before the guest arrives at the hotel. Left waiting in the lobby, concerned that I wouldn't have a room having arrived up in Derby. Check in was a 55 minute hassle due to issues of authorisation.. sort it out sooner, please!! Staff are doing far too much, and having to serve the restaurant and the reception desk simultaneously. This has caused issues with the quality they can provide for both - so, keep the excellent staff you have, but hire more. The restaurant ended up understaffed on the last night to the extent of a 45 minute delay on new orders, then long waits for food. Small issues with security, again due to overstretched staff. People waiting outside the lifts with no proof of staying at the hotel, had no way to avoid them tailgating. Perhaps another key card lock on the door before the lifts/stairs? Shower in room and lighting in bathroom were needing maintenance, raised this at the end of my stay with someone newly on shift. They were not as friendly and helpful as Steph, Lyle and Callum had been during the week, and the response from this other member of staff felt more like a 'see if I care' than 'thanks for helping us be our best'. Food prices are a lot, I was glad I'm expensing these meals.. If you give your staff one role or the other, restaurant OR reception, it will improve the quality of the guest experience. Was glad that I felt comfortable to stay as a solo traveller at this hotel, some struggle with the concept of travelling for business alone!
