I came for the Dragon Boat Festival and chose this hotel based on the good reviews. I was hoping to relax and unwind on vacation, and I was initially impressed by the hotel. After checking in, I noticed the curtains on the floor-to-ceiling bathroom window wouldn't close. The electric switch wasn't working, and neither would the manual one. I went to the front desk twice to get someone to come and see what was happening. It was a minor issue, but it was resolved properly. Then, after we retired for the night, around 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM, there was a sudden bang in the room, tripping the entire power circuit. At the same time, the downlight at the entrance suddenly came on brightly, startling me awake. The doorway light, strangely brightened, stayed on for about a minute before suddenly going out. The noise startled my boyfriend and me awake. We tried to turn on the lights in the dark, but none of them worked. We weren't sure if it was a power outage or something else, and we didn't want to disturb anyone else, so we decided to wait until daybreak to check. But then I couldn't sleep... I waited until dawn to find the switch still wasn't working. I hurriedly washed up and headed to the front desk, using the light from the curtains as a sliver of light. They explained that the circuit breaker might have been tripped by the rain and thunder overnight. They offered to fix it immediately and gave me a small cookie and two cups and a doll from the warehouse as compensation. I was in a hurry to leave, and the receptionist seemed pleasant enough. I didn't hear any thunder during my stay the previous night, so even if it was, the hotel should have discovered and fixed the issue promptly. Furthermore, this series of incidents significantly dampened my stay, leaving my boyfriend and I feeling restless and exhausted. We had driven here from out of town, and today's return trip in the rain was a real blow to our travel experience. Finally, exhausted, I arrived home and was packing up when I saw this small gift as compensation. I didn't need it, but looking at it more closely, I was left with a nagging feeling. The more I thought about it, the more angry I became...
