Days Inn by Wyndham Denver Downtown

Hotel is in a really shady part of town and I didn’t personally feel safe so never actually stayed and booked somewhere else to stay instead. Might have just been me but I didn’t feel comfortable staying in that area.

Location doesn’t feel safe. Lots of homeless people around.

The hotel is a great place to stay if you’re seeing a concert across the street. It’s convenient and the rooms are clean and mostly updated. There is a lot to do within a few minutes walk or a quick Uber. The neighborhood is sketchy af though so just be aware of your surroundings. The main issues we had were that in the first room we checked into, the security lock was broken (had clearly been kicked in), but the excellent staff switched us to another room immediately. This is hand in hand with the doors being open onto the street, which made us a little nervous, exacerbated by the fact that the gates to the parking lot didn’t shut at night, which all in all felt very exposed. The second issue was that the beds were old and lumpy, I woke up in a rut in the bed, but it was a comfy rut so I didn’t care that much. If I was sharing the bed with my husband, it might’ve been a bigger issue, but for a girls’ night away, it was fine. As the hotel seems to be in the middle of a renovation, this is probably an issue that will remedy itself in the future. I would probably stay here again if I was seeing a concert across the street, just for the convenience. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the hotel, it’s just clearly seen better days and trying to reach a better tomorrow. All that aside, the staff is absolutely wonderful and did a lot with very little. I’d give them 5 stars for being so kind to us and helping us navigate the area, and for enduring my terrible jokes.

Would not recommend. Staff was nice but not worth the money. Towels didn’t seem clean, water temperature fluctuated, overall strange smell. You can definitely hear the sounds of the city throughout the night.

This property was somewhat conveniently located close to downtown and Union Station. It was a comfortable bed and room. But being on a busy street, the traffic noise was a little bit more than it should be.

Not so good. I didn’t expect much, but I was still disappointed. They charge extra for parking. They had one loaf of bread offered for breakfast, and it was only the ends left. No sweetener offered for the coffee. They charged extra for hot pockets and other frozen food items to heat up in a dirty mini microwave. No juice. They had stale cereal available though.

We had a pretty good stay. We paid for the parking and I'm glad we did - lots of homeless in the area. The room was pretty clean and spacious, no fridge or microwave in the room but that was ok because we had coolers. Plenty of food options within walking distance.
