Friendly staff at the Weinerhoff hotel and location is great for town centre (shops / restaurants) and train station but really over priced for what I’d call a very low 3 star hotel. Food is also below average unfortunately and breakfast not the best. Bottomless coffee is a bonus as there are some lovely areas inside to sit

Stayed at the Wienerhof on two separate occasions for one night while going to/returning from an offshore job. The hotel is clean, friendly and has all amenities required. Rooms are ok for one or two nights but I wouldn’t want to stay for an extended period due to room size

We missed out on the last ferry (of the day) to Texel and the host, Tordes (hope I spelt your name correctly?), welcomed us for a very late booking at reception at 10pm. Not only did he offer a welcome drink on arrival, but we were given a free upgrade to the suite from the standard room. The suite was very clean and spacious. It included a very spacious "open-concept" bathroom area (perfect for couples) with a bathtub and shower (hot and cold water), and a balcony overlooking part of the city. The bed had a white curtain canopy and gave us the best sleep of our entire Netherlands trip - thanks to a quality mattress and pillow. Despite having a very loud neighbour and being close to the train station, we experienced no noise. We stayed here on a Friday night, and couldn't hear anything from dusk until dawn, even with windows open. If you like an accommodation with old world charm, and in a good location, definitely check out Hotel Wienerhof. If we had another night in Den Helder, we would stay here again. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. We were in/out in less than 5 minutes. And we felt our host, Tordes was very friendly and kind. Thank you for our stay! Michael

The room was booked by my company near the Marine harbour, but was very disappointing. Two single beds, small room and small bathroom with shower. That's all. Access to the room was through the cafe/restaurant where a group of elderly people were playing cards at the time. The price for all this is 129 per night without breakfast. I was so disappointed that I immediately looked for other options through booking. Found in no time: 14 km further a spacious apartment in a farmhouse. Parking space in front of the door unlike Wienerhoff Hotel. And also 30 euros cheaper. Unfortunately we have to pay the cost of the night in Wienerhoff, because no cancellation has been made 24 hours in advance. Hence this review. Think before you start on this hotel. Old-fashioned hotel, really in need of a major update!!! The room we got...I could still agree with that, but dinner...I had the spareribs , shameful, I wouldn't dare to serve something like that to anyone... they were just cooked 😟 which I am very sorry find, because to prepare a tasty spare rib you don't have to be a great chef, they were still off to a good start. at check-in we were spontaneously asked if we wanted a coffee, this hotel is good for once 😟 but they won't see me here again!!!
