Comfort Inn & Suites DeLand - Near University

We checked in right at 2pm without incident, and were helped by a very nice manager. When we got to our room, we had difficulty getting the key card to open the door. Once we were finally in, we began to get our things in order. I took my shoes off and immediately noticed that the hard floors were dirty. There was sand and grit under my feet. Luckily, I had brought some sock type slippers and I wore them whenever I didn’t have shoes on. Also, I question whether the sheets were clean because when I turned back the bed, there was some wrinkling that suggested otherwise. The bathroom appeared to be clean, but the shower tub should be replaced as there was rust around the top of the tub. The small coffee makers’ coffee pod holder did not fit the machine, but fortunately there was coffee available with the continental breakfast, which was all quite good. The area was clean and well stocked. Our room A/C unit was under the window and right next to the desk. Unfortunately, the vents were stationary and could not be adjusted so the cold air blew directly on me as I was trying to work at the desk. I had to either move into the bed, or turn the air off and be hot in the room. All the employees were very nice, but seemed to be spread a bit thin. I would likely opt for a different hotel fish I were to return to DeLand.

Reservation was not honored, front desk staff was very rude, then I was given a room for one night which was suppose to be equivalent to my booking and it was not so. The room was not clean to my satisfaction either. Then a friend of mine in my group paid for her room in advance and they canceled her room which was prepaid. We also had packages delivered that they didn’t honored

Loved this place! Check in was super easy and friendly staff. Room was very inviting and immaculate with all amenities. Parking was very easy. Very nice free breakfast including eggs, sausage, any kind of bread, etc. I loved that the rooms didn't have carpet but some type of tile that was very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

This was not a good experience. I spent 3 nights at this Comfort Inn. I was given 1 wash cloth. I couldn’t get hold of the front desk so I had to go ask why no housekeeping was coming to my room. I was told they are short staffed and only clean the rooms every 3 days. I was able to get them to give me more wash cloths. Then I had to go back for a roll of toilet paper. The bathroom smelled like urine and the rooms are so dark that it’s hard to see. I told them the trash cans in my room were full so they gave me a bag and said to put the trash in the hallway. There was seldom anyone at the front desk and I’d have to call out to get someone to come. This was not a good experience. I will not come back

Room cleanliness is very important to us. And this room was spotless. Cleanliness is like godliness. Also the breakfast was superb. Everything was that was supposed to be hot was hot and things that were supposed to be cold were cold. All in all it’s a good day

Unfortunately the 2nd and 3rd floors smell musky. Walked in the first room on the 2nd floor, and it had a broken bed that one side was laying on the floor. We immediately got another room on the 3rd floor and it has a slight odor but otherwise seems ok so far (we are here until morning.)
