Dömle Herrgård Spa & Resort

Well firstly I must say that the location and facilities are really nice. That said, I did only see the entrance and the dining room. So this review is about the food, and just to clarify, we were nine people dining, and three of us were small children. So it started with a starter. We chose the creme ninone and the shrimp toast. I was rather happy with the creme ninone, but the shrimp toast was not that dunny. To put it frankly, it was a peace of toast that had a shrimp salad on top with lots of red onion. The children that chose the shrimp toast got the same thing but half the size. It lacked a lot of presentation and unfortunately got the lunch to a rather bad start. The best course of lunch was the main by far. Especially the children's pancakes. It was the only dish that really stood out. I never tasted it, but my son enjoyed it. So all good. The mail meal for the rest of us was a steak of calf, and the meat was good. The oven roasted potatoes were also very good. There was some brocoli on the plate, but the presentation and salad on the side could have been better. Sorry to say it, but my favourite dish is always the dessert. In this case, we had raspberry pie and ice cream The raspberry pie was the better choice, and the ice cream was unfortunately not homemade or good. It was literally swimming in strawberry jam and not a good one. The staff did a lovely job and helped my daughter get some blueberries on the side and did lots of things for the children. There was a nice selection of bread and a sallad on the side. All in all, it is a better than average lunch, but due to cost and setting, it could be better at basically every aspect of the food. The biggest plus was the pancakes that really stood out compared to the rest. The only aspect of service that could have been better was the time it took to get the starter. And this only due to that we had small children attending lunch.
