Unfortunately, this was my most disappointing Marriott experience in roughly 20 years being a loyal Marriott customer. This was the most poorly maintained and staffed property I've ever visited. While the room was clean, it needed maintenance. The toilet handle consistently stuck open, the fan in the bathroom had a mind of its own and the windows didn't lock (on a first floor bedroom this matters). To top it all off, hot water is not always working. The front desk staff and their leadership are completely disengaged and disinterested hospitality. When I checked in, they staff took no note of my Marriott rewards status and placed me in the least desirable room in the hotel, 1st floor, closest to the freeway & directly next to the stairs/entrance. This is the room you give to non-rewards customers, not those who have hundreds of nights stayed. When I spoke to the front desk about the maintenance and hot water issues, they blew me off. I shared my concerns in a survey and the manager wrote me an email outlining that she'll talk to leadership about my concerns (isn't she the leadership) but she hopes to see me again in the future. Their is one BRIGHT SPOT. Their breakfast spread (included in the cost of stay) is hosted by an elderly lady who clearly takes pride in her work. The fruits were fresh, the scrambled eggs were light & fluffy, the coffee was fresh (from clean urns) and the entire area was immaculately clean. Additionally, she is incredibly engaging and enjoys chatting with guests. I tipped her after my week in the hotel and hope you will too - she deserves it!
